What? No way.... :cool2: My local fab shop who is also a Rigid dealer and for kicks a few years back I took one of my Totron 40" dual rows that I sold and put it up against his Rigid comparable dual row. Not much difference.
Totron is one of the few china manufacturers that actually use tuned optics's and CREE leds. With the exception of Aurora and Sanmak, totron is one of the best China built light bars.

Ok mr smart as shit what Chinese bar did Rigid use in their comparison then?? Plus if you would of read through the whole thread Tim has also had both. WHAT DID HE SAY?? Hmm???? You calling Tim a lier now???? And no, the total output doesn't mean shit. Working lumens, candela and reflector/optics are what matters. Three 10 watts are not going to be the same as 10 3 watts either. What degree of spot and or flood on both? What brand of LED's? Osram or Cree? QUOTE=mojosxs;610786]You have no idea what your talking about. First and foremost it's the total output on the actual LED that matters, it's called Lumen. If you have 10 3 watt bulbs vs 3 10 watt bulbs in theory that lumen out is the same. Do your research before you make statement like that. When you get into high end lights like vision X you will see a difference because of the advanced optics. Not to mention ask anyone that owns a rigid, Baja design or vision x light bar and Dow side by side comparison to any Chinese bar. Not even close.

Side by side that wattage is less of a factor then the optics's and rigid, Baja and VisionX all have better optics then the China built light bars.[/QUOTE]

I for one, will be making 'Merica great again and will be rockin Baja Designs...not only are they the best, but their customer service is awesome and I'd rather keep my hard earned dollars in the good ole USA. Come on boys, don't be all talk. Back up your Trumpster votes by supporting USA made products. (Ok, yes, we spent our cash on a Canadian product, made in Mexico, but at least is within North America).

Once again, why don't you try google. First, not sure what makes you think I'm calling Tim a liar, it's very possible Tim purchased an Aurora or Sanmak light bar which as I said are very good.

Second, take 10 3 watt bulbs and get your lumen meter (I actually have one, see picture) and measure them. Now grab 3 10 watt bulbs and measure them, guess what? Pretty much the same output. As I said and you repeated the optics is what make the difference. Chinese optics bad, German, USA and even Japan optics, good.

So keep running your mouth on a topic you don't know jack shit about and I will be happy to educate you.

Yes that's my LUX meter sitting on my X3 right next to my Rigid light bar which is an excellent light bar, assembled in the USA unlike Black oak.

Baja Designs are outstanding light bars, Lazerstar, VisionX, Rigid are all excellent.

Call them..
Have you read their website? Read the about us section. They had a research facility :) I had a research facility too, it was my garage and Dove Springs. Please tell me on their site where it says made in the USA or even assembled in t be USA.

I would like to point out, I have nothing against Black Oak, they sell good light bars but their light bars are way over priced. You can find the same for much less. If anyone wants to buy direct let me know and I will send you my contact at Sanmak. They will send you a light bar as good as black oak for 1/4 of the price.

Lol, it's too early for popcorn but man this is on same level as popo vs canam.

I'm sinking a shit ton of money into that X3, with most of it on made in the USA products (I'm canadian mind you). But for the led bar I'm going on a chinese product. It's the only place I feel I don't need the premium product and will use the money saved on other stuff, again most of them made in the USA.

Cheers!

I just ordered a meter very similar of not the same one pictured. I will show the results when I get the meter.

I enjoy learning and all the info is great.

Its good to hear all sides of something, I know my experience is quite different than the video shows.

You don't need to sink a ton of money into a light bar. Just make sure your buying CREE or OSRAM which will cost you a little over 125.00.

Just remember, you need to do the math and have perfect conditions to get a good reading. If you have a light bar that was sold as 13000 lumen, using that meter will not tell you that. What it will do is give you an idea of which light bar is brighter.

So with a bar like this, is the light output higher because it use a higher watt led?
Image
Yes, this would be brighter however I would not run this on my side by side. At 480 watts, it wouldn't leave you much on your stator, less the 200 watts. No battery config could keep up with this. If you add radio or turn on the head lights, you'd be at capacity.

You would be better off with this one, 288 watts, has 4D optics and is much cheaper.

Baja Designs are a great as I will agree with you but are they worth what they charge. No way in hell... Also Vision X are only designed in the USA not made or even built here.

I still have a research facility. I use it a few times a day and when done, I flush LOL.Also since you did read on their website "Black Oak LED has quickly gained a reputation for producing the highest performing, longest lasting lights on the market". Yes that doesnt say about being assembled in the states but it does say they" produce" which means not a re branded led. I also do not see rigid offering big discounts to our veterans or veteran ran. Black Oak did say after the holidays they will look into changing their website.

Like I said man, I have nothing against Black Oak except I feel their prices are too high. I can produce all kinds of things, it doesnt mean its built in the USA. I will say they sell great LED light bars.
