Woah. For $700 I would buy name brand. I imagine black oak is just rebranding a generic Totron lightbar. Generics can be had for under $100 on amazon.

 

I dont see much light difference between my 140.00 dollar bar and my Rigid to be honest. Tim

 

Yeah my little 12" radius totron ($80) on the mav makes my 10" rigid ($400) on the outlander look sad. I've had more trouble with the rigid because as much as that thing cost it still has a 50 cent switch controlling it that is NOT waterproof.

 

I bought the Auxbeam 5D 50in bar for like 200. I don't know about long term but at this price, it was worth it. Build quality is excellent as far as I can tell. Will install on my X3 shortly.

Also bought a pair of diffused pods for the bumper.

 

My dad bought the 40 inch single row on Black Friday for 30% off. The lights are all assembled here in the US and was told they are not a re branded Totron. They also offer a 15% veteran discount and are veteran owned.

Has anyone tried a Black Oak light bar? Their price isn't to bad and specs are pretty awesome. I was curious if anyone has tried any of their products before. I am thinking of getting a 40" light bar and some cube lights for the a pillar on my X3.

I use to sell light bars, I would bet good money these are not built in the USA. These are advertised as OSRAM which is a type of LED. You have CREE, Epistar and OSRAM. CREE and OSRAM are the two better LED bulbs. You can find OSRAM 3 and 5 watt 3D, 4D, 6D and 7D lensed on Ebay for for under 100 bucks. They will not have a warranty for the most part, even if they say they do. Generally these are as bright as most high end light bars. I have seen the black oak light bars on sand rails and they are a fine light bar however too expensive. For less than 700 you could purchase a Rigid Radiance which is an outstanding light bar.

 

I had one of the No Brand Chinese on my 13 Maverick and I was pleased with it.. It worked..

Then I seen some video's of the Rigid.. Guess they are that much brighter.. Without Breaking the bank.. Plus the rigid Radiance has the nice back lighting

It's interesting to watch a video like that with no real facts about what kind of specs the Chinese light bar is. For all we know the rigid was just twice the wattage making it that much brighter.

 

I'm thinking about giving this a try. Water rating seemed pretty good. Price is good considering the output. Gotta remember the actual output and calculated output are different. Make sure you look at what they are advertising.

I wouldn't buy the 3W for $700, if I was to go that route I'd buy something else. But I saw they have a 5w that claims 44,000 lumens. Did not know if anyone had experienced with that, but to me that's a lot of light for $700. Don't know if the specs are true, that's why I was seeing if anyone had experience with this product. Plus a lifetime warranty, veterans discount, and made in the USA it was worth looking at.

How is your dad's single row? Does he like it? I have a off brand dual row on my XP 1000 that I like, but then I came across their 40". So I was interested in getting this for my X3. The amp draw appears similar to vision X with a ton of lumens when you get the 5w osram for half the price.

What? No way.... :cool2: My local fab shop who is also a Rigid dealer and for kicks a few years back I took one of my Totron 40" dual rows that I sold and put it up against his Rigid comparable dual row. Not much difference.

I for one, will be making 'Merica great again and will be rockin Baja Designs...not only are they the best, but their customer service is awesome and I'd rather keep my hard earned dollars in the good ole USA. Come on boys, don't be all talk. Back up your Trumpster votes by supporting USA made products. I'm sure they're better than the $300 chinese amazon light bars. But I'm not willing to spend 8x more on them. They're just sooo expensive.

I'm sinking a shit ton of money into that X3, with most of it on made in the USA products (I'm canadian mind you). But for the led bar I'm going on a chinese product. It's the only place I feel I don't need the premium product and will use the money saved on other stuff, again most of them made in the USA.

You don't need to sink a ton of money into a light bar. Just make sure your buying CREE or OSRAM which will cost you a little over 125.00.

 

For that kind of money on a no name brand I would check out Oz light bars or Heise led lights more bang for your $$$$$$

 

At one time Hiese was one of my dealers. They buy from the same company I bought from. Do they even sell to indivduals?

OZ has some good deals and it looks like that have a warranty. I have never heard of them until today.

Just remember, you need to do the math and have perfect conditions to get a good reading. If you have a light bar that was sold as 13000 lumen, using that meter will not tell you that. What it will do is give you an idea of which light bar is brighter.

 

So for me,
