Try jump starting it off of your pick up. If it works, buy a new battery, if not, dig deeper.

New battery new ignition switch when I turn the key to the light position the lights turn on but nothing in the dash then I turn the key to the on position and everything turns off nothing on the dash no lights nothing at all i only hear the relay under the steering wheel clicking all my fuses look good when I got the new battery I did notice that I had to connect and disconnect the cable and it randomly worked but now nothing at all I tried doing the same with the cables but that didn’t work any more...

I have a can am 1000 OG maverick 2014

 

My guess is the ecm and key/ignition aren't talking to each other.

Would I be able to get it fixed or would I have to buy a new one? What you think I should do is there a way of checking the ecm?

 

Did you buy it new?

Can am has some great safety features stolen cars.. ecm and keys need to be paired..

No i bought it used it was working fine drove it around couple times then when I went to try it again couple days later nothing no power to the dash the switches do light up when I put it in the light position but that’s it when I turn the key to the run position everything shuts off all fuses are good I switched the relay and nothing I also checked the back fuses and they look good

 

Do you know the person you bought it from??

This thread is 9 years old and that guy hasn't been on in like 7 years.

One of the biggest frustrations here is guys asking for help but never coming back in and updating the thread with a solution.

I suggest introducing yourself and then making a thread for help and participating in the thread as advice is offered.

I was messing around with this 9 year old thread…

Best to start a new one. Clicking relay? Battery and battery connections come to mind.

 

All that is good can jump the new soleniod and it starts fine but button doesn't work
