Top Speed? How Fast?

What top speeds is a Maverick in stock form capable of reaching? How about modified? How fast do you guys typically drive?

I registered 55 on the speedo, and it was pretty nerve racking. I'm sure it was off, as I have 32'' tires. Most the time, I rarely break 20mph and most of my riding is in the 10-15MPH range.

Edit: That 55mph was solo, and I have already added harnesses. I wasn't comfortable enough to bring a passenger on that run.

55 mph? I have a 48 mile loop I love to do in Johnson Valley that covers part of the King of the Hammers course. I have done it in 43 minutes. That's more than a 60 mph average. Some of the wide open sections I see speeds of 75-79 mph. 55mph is cruising speed.

Dad gum. Trail conditions play a major roll I'm sure. I did it on a back country dirt rode with trees on both sides. About as open as I can get around here.

Maybe take your ride off the Eco mode so you can go over 65. LOL!

I believe the Maverick is governed to around 75ish top speed.

Well, you guys kind of blew my mind. I wasn't expecting to hear speeds of 75+ MPH, much less 85-90! I know terrain makes a big difference, I just can't imagine having anywhere besides a black top or dirt road to do that, and with my luck I'd end up in the tree line. Definitely understand why everyone on this forum recommends harnesses so quickly.

Harness was no where near my top priority since I ride sub 20 in wooded trails and mud. Doing that stuff, I'd have the harness asap for sure!

Your in Texas...there has GOT to be some open desert around somewhere, or get out to the dunes. Myself and a few other forum member have ridden together in Glamis. Hitting speeds of upper 70's in the dunes is a BLAST. Get that thing out and open her up. The stupid grin on your face will be permanent.

Had my MrRPM reflashed 15 Xds Turbo doing 88mph on a frozen harbour but had to pull back I was hitting bare ice not a good thing at that speed..I knew there was a bit more

in it so I gave it a run just two weeks ago on pavement and hit 91mph...everything else is stock except for the reflash...1500 miles now on my original belt with zero issues

Knock on wood!!...I run it at high speeds quite often here in the winter and never had a belt issue which tells me the cold air is protecting that belt from getting to hot...I'm sure

if I tried that in warmer climes I'd have blown the belt a long time ago...these speeds were on the speedo not GPS..I really got to try it on a GPS sometime.

2014 Maverick Max XRS FULLY LOADED with a shit load of extra weight and parts.... NO power mods... my TOP TOP TOP speed I have ever hit was 60mph. I might be able to get more on a flat ground with plenty of room. I ride mostly woods. but honestly, the car normally gets 57-58 and tops out there.

I should also point out that is at 6000+ ft elevation.

Dunes is piss.... like 53 mph on the GPS.

again... car has a TON of extra weight added to it and zero power mods. works great for me though.

What transmission is in the xds turbo? I assume it's the same as non turbo models or Does canam offer 3 transmissions in the maverick? xmr, xds turbo and then one for everything else? To see over 90mph in stock form it has to be reving over 9000rpms?
My 2014 maverick mcx turbo with 15% taller transmission spun the dyno to 98mph with STM clutches, 8500rpm redline. I'm yet to test it to max speed on blacktop. Our riding season starts right away

Don't know if the tranny is the same as the none turbo...I never looked at the RPM's at that speed to busy looking at the MPH #'s and where I'm going but I do know the reflash

is good for 9000-9500 rpm's now whether it turns up that high not sure but I highly doubt it...I know MrRPM has run them on the dyno at 9500rpm's while testing with no issues

but the real world run I don't believe it would rev that high like I say but can't say for sure as I never looked.

30 inch Tensors, 82mph on the speedo, and 82mph on the GPS, at 8200 rpms.
