That’s already started. Just the window, a few other BRP items, and new wheels for the paddles so far but it adds up quickly.

I can’t wait to use it but it’s not starting out great. Had a smart shox code 5 minutes after pulling it off the trailer. Back at the dealer now. Ground fault in the drivers front shock. I’m not too worried about it, weather is crap now and I need to get some parts - PRP seats, warn winch, BD lights, whips, etc off my X3. My deal was $8,500 off msrp, no delivery or prep.

 

That's an excellent deal I would say- and I know i'll get jumped on by those without issues, however smart shox strikes again. Lol.

 

My X3 has the smart shox and zero issues so far. I have had all 4 out of the car to do springs and reinstalled trouble free. My mentality is if things are new and fail right away it’s most likely a manufacturing issue on the failed part and not an engineering failure. What I let my dealer know nicely was that they should have caught it and addressed the issue before I took delivery. In all fairness I was down at the shop all excited banging my cock on it and wanted to take it home that day.

I think it was a good deal, basically $2K more than the X3 of the same model.

 

I haven’t updated this for a while. The smart shock issue was an easy fix. Dealer found a pinched wire and replaced it with a part off a new machine from their inventory. They made it right quickly with no questions asked.

I’m still on the fence about wheels and tires. Leaning towards the Valor bead lock wheels and their 35” soft compound tires. Once I get this figured out MTS springs and tuning will follow.

 

Good news, good news. EVP mid pipe came today. Tomorrow is EVO Sunday. I asked my wife if she would sit in the car and make engine noises while I work on it. She looked at me funny and said she has an appointment to get the clam waxed instead. Sounds like a win win for me.

Whew, I’m tired. I was feeling a little rough this morning but powered through.

Got the exhaust, intake, catch can, and charge tubes done. I forgot to get pictures of the air cleaner and catch can vent before I put the scoop cover on

 

I need to run the wires for the dump switch and then will get some better pictures. It was dark by the time I got done. Also had a few tri-tips on the smoker all day with some friends and family over for dinner.

 

Oil change. The rear plug is the main resivore for the oil. The front is under the filter and drains the filter. If you open the two bottom drains before loosening the filter cap no oil will spill out the top. Then lift the filter out an inch ad more will drain. I was able to replace the filter with no spillage. The oil was clean with minor silicone and debris in the filter. No metal on the magnets. There was some sluge on the rear plug. No metal. I’m assuming some of this is from the car being started daily moving it in and out of the dealership without really running it to temp for a period of time. Interested to hear what you think.

No, not yet. I am going with the gas tunes for now. 91, 93,96,100, 110. Each has regular and pops and bangs. I also did the DCT tuning and launch control. The 350hp kit requires a high flow fuel pump, upgraded fuel rail, some intake plenum clamps and separate tune for E85. I expect to have about 285hp at the tires on 100 octane fuel. The R’s are dynoing around 220-225 at the tires stock.

Ah, was thinking it only required a tune, but do remember it was on E85.

Here's something I watched a while back.

 

Friend of mine had the big turbo on e-85 and if you do that you might as well buy the fuel tanks for under both seats. He only was getting about 40 miles a tank. Him and the turbo pro r don’t go far from camp.

 

I’ve heard they really suck the fuel on E85. I am not sure if the fuel tanks will fit the PRP seats. This car does suck the fuel especially in sport +. I’ll probably stick with gas tunes. I’m not a drag racer and wanted the car to be a little more playful. The 60-80 hp gains I will see should be plenty for me.

 

A lot of people like running E85, just not for me.

 

To me if you can get it at the pump and you don’t need 100miles a tank. It a win. But if you have to buy vp and other brands not worth it.
