Hey all,

I have a 2026 Maverick R on order. While I understand we don't know all the changes yet, is there anything from the previous model years that were a common issue on new machines? Missing or damaged parts, loose bolts, etc.. Obviously I'll go over it in detail when I get it home, I just want to know if there is something common I need to check before it even leaves the dealership.

Thanks!

Your in depth inspection would be best if done at the dealership before you take possession. Get the engine running, let the fans kick on check all over for coolant, oil or fuel leaks. Anytime it’s possible to give it a go over before accepting delivery you are in the best position. Maybe a quick drive around the lot confirm no code if smart shock model. Scratch, dent, crappy paint, or damage from the shop seem to be the main items.

congratulations on the new ride!

Only thing that happened to mine was the dealer didn't program the key for performance (mine was set to "normal key") and they didn't verify the updates for the ECM and TCM. The small dash will tell you which key you have set as soon as you hit the start button.

Motohero is right, just look for blemishes and welds and any loose hardware, and drive it if you can. If they will show you the PDI checklist they follow you can check some of that stuff. Fluids and tire pressure etc.

Thanks all,
Well the only issues on the new machine were related to the stereo I didn't ask for. They forgot to hook up the amp trigger at the factory, then the plug for the driver side speaker was labeled "Washer" which caused some confusion. So far so good though, I spent the entire weekend in the garage installing stuff.

Do you have any pics with the new gear installed?
