More power?

 

Definitely… it’s slow compared to the EVO 3R-95 tuned X3 (233hp) I came from. EVO has the R at over 300 with just a tune. Need that asap. Hoping for 350 on race gas with a tune and stock injectors.

 

No comment on the braking, just wanted to say those are some seriously awesome, quality pics.

The one I drove had great brakes so the adjustment thing may be need to be done on some or them. Obviously BRP would have done that prior to us testing it.

I didn't have an issue with the power, it's more potent than an X3 RR.

What are you comparing it to?

Got the brakes figured out, needed bled and the pedal adjusted.

My x3 was on a 95 tune from EVO, so it was 233hp and 500lbs less. I’m ready for that 300hp evo tune as soon as they release it.

Do these have a 'break-in' mode that needs to be satisfied before full potential can be realized? I know the sleds do but that may be only the 2 strokes.

I had the same tune on my x3. My r feels every bit of my x3 and more. However I am waiting on Evo as well

 

It seems from the dyno numbers the DCT loses less power, so I suspect that offsets the weight difference.

Mine, had a fluid leak on bleeder valve on front drivers side... took it back to dealer where they fixed leak and bled brakes. Before I took it in the brakes were pretty weak. After dealer made repair they feel a little better, still not the greatest.

Have to really apply pressure to get them to stop.... I don't use brakes that often, but hoped they would be better.

They actually feel similar to my yxz which I just sold... but it was much lighter and the sequential trans negated brake use quite a bit..

 

Brakes just slow you down and kill mileage. Who needs them

 

So I picked up a new 2024 maverick R w SS the brakes have a hard time stopping the car you have to push way far is there way to fix if so can some give me some advise thank you

Yes, take it back, mine are great. I saw a comparison of the top makes and the Maverick R had the shortest stopping distance.

 

owners Manuel states they get better with break in

 

After spending a week in moab the brakes started feeling better , what amazing it does in the Rocks felt way more stable than my X3 . I hope performs just as good this weekend at the Idaho sand dunes

Are there any hard lines? What I see is they are all flex lines, IMO this will make anything with brakes have a spongy pedal.

 

Polaris uses braided flex lines and no spongy feel. if you stomp on those brakes it will throw you out of the car if your not buckled in.

Can Am always has a spongy feel. When I drove my friend's Maverick R the brakes felt way better than my X3.

How many miles do you have? My brakes got 10x better with a little use.

 

It's most important to burnish your pads when new. Do 8-10 hard stops from say 50-60 mph to 10 mph in a row. You want to brake as hard as possible without locking up. You should see off gassing (smoke) when complete. Let them cool and they will be soooo much better. Pad material needs to get deposited onto the rotor surface.

My brakes took about 40 miles to bed the pads into the rotors. Also, had a spongy pedal at delivery, bled brakes and pedal is less travel. My brakes with 35" Tensors work great in the west so far.

I'd try bleeding them and depending on how much time on your machine, they may still need to bed.

Mine actually looked glazed at 20 miles; I noticed that and stabbed them a bit more than I would normally and they cut into the rotor in another hour of riding like that.

I believe bleeding and proper break in would be the only way to improve the stock set up.
