I notice there is a black line at the top of Mega's picture... And it looks cropped... Maybe if we can get the full picture it can be Google Lens'd for more info...

This is fun.

From SXS guys:

Seems like with the spy photos floating around, now is as good as time as any to share a European patent WO2023/144732A1 that dropped a few days ago for the upcoming Can-Am Maverick update! In these drawings, we can definitively see:
  • updated plastics with cut-outs in the hood for the new suspension travel
  • NEW CENTER INFOTAINMENT SCREEN(!)
  • new headlights and taillights
  • new chassis updates including fully supported front shock tower, exposed rear shock points
  • New cage "extension" points above the bed, maybe for factory tire holder or wrap over bumper?
  • all-new upright front and rear hub/spindle hybrids
  • new trailing arms
  • new dual rear radius rods
  • new rear mounted sway bar
  • new and bigger intake
  • new motor and sequential transmission
  • big turbo side mounted (as the motor is now rotated 90° so the crank is pointed rearwards for the sequential)
  • new 6-lug wheels
  • possibly bigger brakes
It also appears to show larger tires than any previous patents for the X3. What do you see in the drawings? Anything we're missing? The next couple weeks are going to be HUGE and an answer to all the X3 fans that have been waiting for new power and old problems to be addressed!

Second to last pic looks like an electronic vgt controller on the turbo, very similar to what diesels use. Plus looks like a V-band mount turbo, this could get interesting

I really hope this is some kind of sick joke. That rig looks like an abortion on wheels. Hard pass. Literally the DUMBEST suspension design ever. Limits your wheel size and looks effing stupid…..i sure hope its a joke. As a diehard can am guy…ill be going poolaris if so…

idk poolaris seems to pump out hideous machine after hideous machine. Seems to work for them🤣
😂 Dude you cant even say that control arm setup isnt DUMB. Who in their right mind would design control arms and knuckles that cast over top of the tire!? It limits your tire size, becomes a target for debris/branches/etc, looks hideous, I can go on. I am a diehard can-am guy too. Hopefully this was just a stupid joke and/or patent test. I wouldnt think can-am would be this dumb. They're usually always on top of their game

Id definitely be worried the knuckles would get destroyed by rocks over time. Surely they thought about that in the design…

I can see it having some mechanical advantages. The geometry under long travel may be better and it’s probably stronger due to larger distance between bottom and top ball joint. That said it also has some negatives that you mentioned. If it comes with 35” tires it may be ok. It does look strange though.
