Am I the only one that was expecting more HP out of the Factory Turbo model? I know 121 HP is a very nice increase over 101 but if I can spend 5-6k on mine and get 160HP at the real wheels with an upgraded clutch, that sounds like the better option. I already have a lot of work done that I don't want to do over like the dual rates from Alex, tie rods, gussets, harnesses, lights, etc.

I know BRP cant come out of the gate with 160 HP, because its a game and each year they need to make a little more HP. Just seems 121HP at the Crank is a little low.

Not complaining, just an observation.

Im right there with you. I think its nice to have knocked Polaris off the top of the HP hill, but with only 11hp adding a turbo? Thats pretty sad IMHO. They could have at least started with 130HP and worked their way up.

Why would they give it any more than they need to be king of the hill? Got to leave room to add a bit more after Polaris counters. It will be as simple as ref lashing the ECU

I think with just some programming you will be able to get 140 easily out of it, AND you wont have to go through the headache of installing a turbo kit yourself. I think the price is very fair, especially for the suspension upgrades and longer wheelbase. Hell, its only a little higher than I paid to pre-order my '13! I will wait another year, let them work the kinks out.

We don't know the exact torque number yet, but Can-Am did say that the new turbo model does have 40% more torque then the leading competitor....

You guys with the HP complaint "for a turbo" are missing the point. Can am knows good and well that the competitors will be coming back swinging. This turbo option lets them tweak it very easy to make more horsepower over and over again. This time it's 121 the next time it's 135, and the next time it'll be 150....and so on and so on. The aftermarket will make this turbo scream up to 200 HP in no time with minimal costs to you... so you won't have to buy the next model just to keep up with the HP wars.

Oh and I forgot to add. For you guys that don't know much about turbo's... it's all about boost!! With a turbo set-up it will be very easy to add it. I bet they are running very little boost in it right now like 3-4 PSI. You watch what happens when the aftermarket spins that up to 10-15!!! Hold on boys!!! This is the start of something big right here!! The industry just broke through the next barrier. You watch and see... this has just started a domino with all the other manufactures too. First time in a long wile I have been truly excited!!

I gotta think the turbo companies are gonna benefit as well, reversed intake runners and a factory plenum and factory panels to cover it up will be nice! Would make for a much cleaner turbo install than we've seen...

I want one. BAD! haha

I'm not saying 121 HP wouldn't put a huge smile on my face. Don't get me wrong. Do you think CanAm will sell a kit now for the models that don't have it?
