On a serious note besides beind stupid thieves are also lazy, removing a tire or two only takes a few minutes and it's free, if you want to spend a little more time and money put four different key lug nuts on the open studs. If you are in the middle of riding season this is a pain in the ass

When I had motorcycles and quads I would hang them up tight to the rafters with chains and locks. If they cut the chains they might be crushed.

I lock mine up in my garage and when we are out camping I park it tight and close to the RV and run a cable/lock through the wheels etc.

I do this, kinda like an advert that it’s broken don’t bother. I had a ac guy get all interested. I made up a story that the motor is blown and it’ll take 6 months or more. I trust very few people in PHX

quick release steering wheel & B&M lockable shifter - lock in park
figure it'll take 4 corn fed midwest boys to lift a 2000 lbs toy onto a trailer & banking on at least one of those boys had a good daddy that taught him not to steal

As others have said, plain looking enclosed trailer and I would agree with the thought that "if they want it bad enough, they will get it", but the tougher you make it for them, the more likely you will still have your ride.

I have used these on our snowmobile trailers....two wheel clamps, easy to put on and take off when you have keys, pain in the rear when you don't. Can you force them off? Yes, but it takes time and increases the chances of getting caught so they will move on to someone else.

If you want to have additional coverage or assistance, you can also install a private GPS tracker. I would recommend one that connects to the battery but has an internal backup that continues to broadcast for 48 hours or more. Most of them are pretty accurate, usually in a few feet of the signal location and can be tracked on a smart phone.

The old saying is - if they want it, they're going to get it.
THIS!!!!

How far are you willing to go to prevent theft? The way I see it, that is the insurance company's problem. IF I am going to worry for them, why do I pay them? I might as well put the money aside for "just in case". I'll take the keys away but I am totally unwilling to "pay" in daily doses by inconveniencing myself for that one potential time that it could inconvenience me a larger amount. Use your own judgment of how much the daily inconvenience is worth totaled up vs the one time problem it causes IF it happens. IF and NOT when.

Can you please expand on the B&M lockable shifter you mentioned? Anything to lock the shifter is a good deterrent!

When camping, I pin my X3 between my rv and truck. Like has been stated, its too easy and quiet for someone to put it in neutral and tow it away in the middle of the night.

Guys check out Aslan gps, I’m in the heavy equipment business we sell them to customers to track attachments and older units without new fangled contronics. They are totally self contained, self powered units, a bit bigger than a wallet just 2 screws to mount. They have an app you can track your puck(s), abd geofence then the software is all web based so nothing to buy extra. They cost $240 per puck with a 3yr subscription. The batteries are good for 3yrs then you have to replace, you can get the puck with 1yr for $150 and renew the service for $49/yr for the next 2 as well. I’ve got them on my buggy and in my boat. Simple easy and lets you know where your stuff is. You can order them direct from aslan
Just google them.

These are the most secure locks for your trailer and side by side. The chain can be defeated but not with bolt cutters or a lot of extra effort. The Abloy puck lock is hardened and virtually pick proof use them on enclosed trailer door and hitch lock..after seeing the other posts I may add lo jac or something like that. I have insurance but if things are stolen we would be without a ride for probably a few months or longer and then all the time to reoutfit our ride that the insurance is not going to give you credit for.
