Any feedback from people with the alba tune? Looking to go stage 1 for now, but trying to decide which company to go with. Would love to hear feedback and why you went with who you did...

I was wondering the same thing. A search in here turned up no complaints. I plan on taking advantage of their Black Friday sale on a stage 1.

Don't overlook the fact that with the others, it's $50-$100 to go up in tunes after purchasing and as things progress down the road or you want more you can get it. Does alba have 7-8 tune levels like pwr tune and evo have?

When I got mine flashed by alba i had a few problems with them. When my ecu came back my buggy wouldn't run, after sending it back Nate got it fixed. It just seemed like every time i called there if i didn't get to talk to Nate i got the run around. Turn around time ended up being 2 1/2 weeks and several phone calls later. I'm sure shit happens so maybe mine was a one time thing. Other than that the flash works fine now.

My stage 2 has been over heating. Getting it back to stock to see if that was the problem. 4 day turn around. Nate said he's done
a lot of these, and no over heating??? Not sure if its the reflash or not yet.

I'm hoping for a quick turn around my buggy is my snow plow and tis the season. I doubt I'll want to upgrade down the road so that's not much of a concern for me. I'm pretty happy with stock power but the Black Friday deal is hard to overlook.

As far as PWRtune and EVO which ever way you go you can't go wrong a lot on here have been tuned by both.....I went with EVO stage 1 and intake

and this damn thing rips...very pleased so far.

My stage 3 PWRTUNE don't overheat. I don't think the EVO tunes do. Make sure there is no air in the system. I think I read about some water pump impeller problems. I doubt it's the tune but it could be. How long does it run before it starts overheating?

Just for simple trouble solving make sure your machine is working perfectly before you send in an ECU for reflashing. Don't make any changes while you are waiting on the ECU to return. This way you can determine exactly if it is tune related. The tuners don't have your car so it's hard for them to diagnose any problems.

To add to what Cales said since my tune the engine runs cooler than stock...I've never seen it go over 2 bars yet with some pretty hard ridding

where when it was stock I saw it as high as 4 bars.

I would not blame the tune. Im sure something else happened to cause the overheating also. I have some guys that had a Evo 17 to 18 flash and it started missing under load up oldsmobile hill and he was over at Evo thinking something in the Tune was Causing it to cut out. Well Todd and Jim told him to pull out the spark plugs and check them out for Anti seize being on the tips and what not and he did and they were fouled with anti seize and he was all good to go so shit happens and you never know when its gonna rear its head.

No other changes, while waiting. never got hot before. Pressure checked cooling system, new cap, raised the rear up 12" overnight with cap off. No lose of water, Gets hot, and will go into limp mode, after long pull 3to4mi over mountain range. Or 50 to 65 MPH on flat county type road for 5 to 7mi. Radiator clear. Will get ECU back in a day or so, been put back to stock. Well see
if over heating persist. Sure going to miss the extra POWER of just a stage 2.

Also alba does not change the cooling temp of fan. Nate said he's never had one over heat. So it all starts at 4 bars. Fan seams to
be turning on. Getting ready to install the new 2018 intercooler & fan, once I know the cooling is better. Over heats worse in ECO
mode.

when its overheating have you visually confirmed the fan is running? I have override switches on both the engine and inter cooler fan. Mine runs at 1-2 bars at all times, occasional 3rd bar for a second or 2 if hot out with passenger in summer. This is with ECU controlling fan, I only use the overrides when I drag race. My EVO tune does lower the on temp

removing the stock muffler and cat lowers temps 2 bars+, huge difference with them removed

could be a bad t-stat as well, there have been a few If I recall

Cat delete, OEM muffler, tune with rad fan coming on sooner, and running intercooler fan constantly I was never above 180* coolant and 90* intake temps when crawling with about 60* ambient temps. When driving faster in high and not being easy on it, same for coolant temp, but intake temps may have gotten to 100*. Very happy with my intercooler fan override.
