Now you got me thinking... Have you checked the wastegate actuator? is it hooked up? does it move if you pull on it? have you tested crack pressure?

Wonder if its overboosting but not throwing a code.
Well with the air intake manifold blowing out today, thats a timing issue so now we are gonna open up the top end and take a look, might as well do the head gasket while in there.
 
I’m assuming that because you saw the impeller spinning on the shaft you did not inspect the water pump gears. In all likelihood those gears are toast. I advise opening her back up and getting to those gears.
Did inspect the gears and they were all in great shape. You have to remove the housing anyways might as well inspect while you're there.
 
I bet the plugs tell the story.

If you have positively eliminated water flow and airflow and you’re still running hot it’s time to test the coolant for hydrocarbons. This test will confirm or eliminate head gasket issues. Test strips are available from local auto parts stores. If that comes up negative then you are running so lean that the cooling system can’t keep up with the engine. As 10mm said above, the plugs are a good place to start.
