If you can afford them, give Kryptonite a try. I think they have lifetime warranties, so even if you have to replace them, you can probably get a new set free.

Is that a brp part number or other brand? any cross reference numbers to a bearing you can get at the automotive parts store.

 

I've had great luck with oem. Front are still stock with 8100 miles. Both rears lasted over 5k miles.

 

Never greased them. 90% WV.Not a mud rider but plenty of creek crossings and smaller mudholes.

 

use oem.....how many times have you greased them ? Its a 2018, if you haven't greased them a few times by now you can blame lack of maint as the issue

 

I bought the machine used earlier this year and greased everything before my first run. I greased them in July again and there was some play in one. That play became excessive in a short period of time. Now it needs replacement.

I don’t ride in heavy mud, or through streams. Dust is the only contaminant that my machine is exposed to.

 

Shock Therapy said in one of their videos not to grease the wheel bearings. They said that the bearings come from the factory with the correct amount of grease in them and that adding more grease can actually cause the bearings to fail prematurely from heat build up. Maybe that is just in race conditions but I found it interesting that they say to do the opposite of what everyone on here says to do.

 

If the areas you frequent are dry conditions no need to grease them.

 

When the bearing is used in an automotive application, they are never greased. Unless the seal fails, the bearing will give satisfactory service. Good enough for me.

In my quest to find a vibration/surging coming from the rear I discovered a boat load of play in one of the rear bearings. I hope that is what caused this intermittent crazy feeling. It was as if I was driving on a tire with a belt shift.

What wheel bearings are you guys running ? Stock BRP, aftermarket? I want to replace them asap and go over the vehicle to have it 100% before the season opens in April. Now is the time to get it done.

I ordered Timken bearings Amazon. Opened the box it had an NSK bearing inside. All good NSK is good gear. Timken has been around forever.

 

Keep the oem clip or order a new one if you ruined yours. Have 3k moles on these now in the rear and still tight. Just greased them once a year and lightly.
