I like running in fast open desert with the X3RC, but my favorite trails are narrow rocky two-tracks that wind thru canyons, washes, and mountain pass's....and until recently there would be occasional moments on some technical trails, that i would have to lean forward a little to look over the hood....i was ordering some stuff from 'Bent Metal' the other day, and noticed they had some 1 1/2- inch seat spacers that get installed on the two back posts, so i had them throw some in on my order. For me, the little extra height they add, sit me up just tall enough to look over the hood at the trail a lot better!....i luved the way i sat in my stock RC (it is similar to sitting in a
Porsche), but i really like my new visibility!.....just a tip i'm passing on if you can use it

I have the same ride as You, same windshield as well. Looks like you have yours moved higher a bit. I dont like looking at the crease in the windshield and have considered adding the seat raisers as well. Canyou see over the windshield with the seat higher ?

Hi Mike, i do have the windshield raised a few inches, it provides a gap for air to come thru the cab, and keep the dust cleared out, one of the reasons i liked the "Clearly Tough" windshield was the ability to raise and lower it easily for conditions....hey kevin, you guys must have misplaced my phone number....

How tall are you guys and do you have stock seats? I have the CT half windshield and Simpson pro sport seats...I’m 6’ 1 1/2” and with the seats mounted in low position in front, I cut the stock spacers in half and it was perfect for me. Using the stock risers had my helmet about 3/4” from the roof...my setup results in a little more upright seating position than stock seats in stock config and allows me to see right over the CT windshield

5'11" I think I should have maybe went with the 1 1/2 inch ones. I'm going to leave them in for when I go to ROTR's in Moab and then I'll take them out when I go to ST. Anthony and see if I only want the risers when I'm not at the dunes.

Hi Has Been, the stock X3 seating is fine, but for me on the technical up and down steep stuff, i was leaning forward to get a good look at the trail, the seat spacers sit me up just right (try and get hold a PHX telephone book)....we are snowbirds that spend the winter down the road from you, next season i will try and contact you for a trailride.

Well, I sure can't use a Wickenburg phone book, as I have seen thicker restaurant menus! I look forward to having some riding time next season.

My wife loves the 1.5" risers but for my 5'11" body it changed the fit of the stock seat to my body...Less lumbar support and upper pressure on shoulder blade area. Keeping hers and taking mine off.. Your experience may vary.

Wow, at 5'8" will I need to sit on a phone book?:smile:
Booster seat from Bob’s Big Boy works. Lol!

I am 5’8” and see fine, but I am thinking about the risers for better seating position.

I am 5'11 and put on the 1.5 risers. Ran them a few trips in Glamis and Baja but ultimately I felt they put me up too high. Might cut them down. Running 3/16 spacer for now and that actually helps a little

I also purchased the 1.5" spacers but didn't like how close I was to the steering wheel after (I'm 6'2"). So I reduce it to 1" and absolutely love the riding position now. The change was just enough to make the distance to the steering wheel to the way I like it. Note that I mostly run the dunes and not really any technical trails. Just my $0.02.
