FYI, fo non-residents, South Dakota is easiest - you don’t have to live in South Dakota and they’ll do the registration through the mail.

When we were in Lake Havasu we went to the DMV and showed them our titles and insurance and were issued the tags. They never asked if I was an AZ resident. Got the renewal in the mail(Texas address) and did it online.

Yes, it makes the SxS street legal in LOTS of states - not in California, Oregon, Colorado, North Carolina, South Carolina, New York, Wisconsin, or Texas though.

Some states, like SOME of the above mentioned, have specific laws prohibiting SxS’s on public roads and some of these states enforce it more the others.

Wisconsin has a MAZE of public roads where SxS’s are allowed, but it’s IMPOSSIBLE to determine permissibility without maps designating the routes and it’s REALLY difficult to connect them to get across the state legally.

Trip of a lifetime. Are you saving the gps files to share with others? If so thanks a lot. For me I would have to hit the trail in Maine and head the other way. I should meet you in Maine and follow you back. Take care man.

Not recording anything - about IMPOSSIBLE for me to remember to hit the record button every day, but I have all the routes in GPX form…it’d take a few hours to lump em all in one folder, but…

I'm the same as you, Al. If I can read between the lines here...riders need to earn their own exploring/riding stripes instead of being given a handout.

I understand not hitting the record button Al. Your a busy guy. As far as handouts LBR I thought that’s what we do here. Share info with our peers. That’s the backbone of this forum. Safe travels all.

Huh? So you don't believe in sharing riding areas? Must be a left coast thing.
