For all you AZ guys out there. What is the best "street" tire for desert riding and the occasional street use? A friend who uses his RZR as his commuter vehicle told me of a General Tire that would fit on stock rims. But I cannot find them.

Got stopped last night for running on the road by Maricopa County Sherriff. It is Legal in AZ as long as you have a mirror, horn and lighted license plate bracket. (Had all three) but reminded me that technically he could write me up for non DOT legal tires. He actually just wanted to check out the Maverick. I offered him a spin in it but, he declined, he thought his RZR might get jealous.

I Can't honestly recommend the GBC Mongrels enough! and they are DOT rated... we have beating the death out of a set of 15's while testing the race car over the last month...not one rock cut...flat or tire failure...and over 250 miles at 75% race speed through the knarliest stuff possible. Yes they are my tire sponsor... but I wouldn't tell you luv'em so far if we didn't..We do run radial tire inner tubes Slime'd BTW, since we do not use bead locks. they are 8 ply on the tread and I believe 6 ply sidewalls.

We ran the General Tires Grabbers most of the season last year... they are only 6 ply on the tread and 1 ply on the sidewall...not bad but we could have used more grip and more sidewall protection...the Mongrels seem a much better choice for on/offroad at this point, at least for us.
