Not familiar with the OEM offering however I have an aftermarket visor on my 2018 with the aluminum roof and it has survived in the woods for 3 years. It's great if you ride in the rain as the rain gutter sends the water to the ends in lieu of dumping the water in your lap. Don't know about towing on an open trailer.
I have towed mine all over the place, no problems I also have a cheap after market 1 it helps a lot with the sun and as said above any water running off the front of the roof
I have the OEM tinted one, good in the sun but in rain it still drips in your lap in the dunes it hinders looking up to the top of the dunes some what still glad i got one but a drip rail would be great
Guessing they just use the same holes as the roof and the light bar bracket from what it looks like
