Greetings all! I just purchased a 19 Maverick Max. This is the very first Can Am I have owned in the 40 years I have been riding quads and SXS's. I have had 7 RZR's in the past 5 years. (I use my machines) I wanted to try something new. So far I am very impressed with how Can Am has made this machine. Easy access for maintenance, good quality doors and everything works as it should without any strange noises. I am part of the Yavapai County Sheriffs Search and Rescue unit meaning this unit will be put to the test. Now comes the fun part! Making this Max my own personal unit with the extras I feel are needed for both the search and rescue as well as my family.

Thanks and enjoy the extras to come!

After searching there is really not that much to choose from regarding aftermarket extras for the Max. I usually have aluminum roofs on my machines but I felt that what was available was not work the high costs. I just did not like the aluminum roof Can Am was selling including the price! No time to wait! Summer is here and we leave at next week for Moab, Silverton Co and then possibly the Paiute Trail system if we have enough time. So for now I installed the Can Am plastic roof. I was able to find one for the same cost of a 2 seat roof. Later down the road I will change to a aluminum, may it be purchased or fabricated.

Also since this Max is also a family unit I chose a 1/2 windshield over full. With my previous RZR 900 4's of the past, a full windshield (Ryfab even with a lower vent) would cause a major vortex inside the cab. My poor boys would be covered in dust. Not fun for them meaning they did not want to ride with us. When the cooler months come to Prescott I will install a Ryfab but for now its time to enjoy our beautiful soon to be summer weather.

Nicole and Sloan approve so far. Here is our maiden voyage with the Max down the other side of the mountain to Skull Valley. Here is one of the largest trees in AZ. Makes the Max look like a little toy next to it!

Did someone say mirrors? Yes. Seizmek mirrors and a back mirror I have from a older RZR build. Only issue is I do not like how the Seizmek mirror tilts on the roll cage with the pro fit mounts. Does anyone know if the Polaris General mount will work? They bolt right into the roll bar at the bottom two bolts. Also with the current pro fit mounts Ryfab has told me their windshield will not work.

We took the Max for a nice 5 hour ride yesterday. Weather was perfect. Our friends who just purchased a 1000R also joined us. So far we are happy with the mods. After 5 hours of riding the boys were still dust free.

Next mods on the list are HID lights, door bags and new wheels and tires. Going to 29 inch. Hoping that extra inch will help on the rocky trails. With the long Max and the extra weight of passengers you are more prone feel your skid plates being used.

Found a awesome deal on some take off 29 inch Bighorn tires. They are 29x9 and 29x11x14 in size. . I ordered STI 5+2 offset wheels. My new width is just under 62 in the front and 62 in the rear. I wanted to keep the Max as close to stock as possible. I am pleased with the results and having that extra inch on each side should make the Max even more stable on the trails.

yo man, i just realized your front coil springs are upside down. the tighter coils should be up. i looked at mine and a few others. look at the photo of yours next to the other red 2 seater you will see as well.

not surprised actually canam has issues with machines coming with different shock or shocks on wrong place on the machine even.

mine came with fronts in rear and rears in the front lol after swapping them i also had to re do the alignment as that was pretty f-d all good now.

how did yours do in moab with the front sway bar still attached?

Allrsdup unfortunately is right. I’ve had my Mav S Max about a month and a half now. And I’ve learned how bad brp quality control is. The machine is great but you’re going to find a lot wrong from the get go. I had a upper shock bolt near fell out, then when torquing every thing down found most all the front suspension was the same. I can’t remember which of the guys on here I got this from but this place sells the can am shop manuals the manual for our machine is 1138 pages and is what I believe to be the cheapest $24.50 you can spend on these rides.
