If you've been overwhelmed by the smell of fuel while climbing uphill in your Maverick X3, below is what I did to address the issue in my 2020 Maverick X3 Max X RS Turbo RR

Problem:

The factory fuel tank vent dumps into the frame rail on the front passenger side under the glove box at knee level which allows fuel vapor to permeate throughout the passenger cabin, especially while climbing a hill. It gets really bad when you install a half or full windshield.

The Fix:

Relocate the vent . Access it by removing the plastic cover from the bottom of the glove box.

1) Remove the 2 plastic pins under the center console:

2) Remove the plastic pin on the bottom right side:

3) Remove the 3 x T30 Torx Screws on the front of the cover:

4) Remove the 2 plastic pins in the bottom of the glove box

5) Remove the plastic cover.

6) Pull the clear vent hose from frame rail and remove it from the barb

5) Install 1/4 ID hose and route to your desired vent location (**)
6) Reverse steps 5-1 above to reinstall the cover.

**NOTE: I routed the fuel vent straight down and drilled a hole in the skid plate behind the oval drain hole so fumes and/or fuel wouldn't end up back inside the passenger compartment.

So far so good, but if the problem reoccurs I'll have to find a new location and I'll update this post. If anyone has a better solution, I'm all ears.
