I’m about ready to dig into my wallet and purchase a X3 X RS, Who is running smart shox, are they worth the price, how about reliability? I am new to the forum I have learned so much. I would appreciate some feedback from any members of the X3 community with experience with smart shox.

I have a DS RR, so my opinion is probably void!!

They were introduced in mid-late 2020? I know that nearly everyone recommends getting the smart shox if given the opportunity.. 2023 msrp difference is about $1700 it looks like. If I were buying a 72" machine, I would definitely go with the smart shox setup...

The opinions from forum members, YT videos, and various articles recommend smart shox atleast more than 60% of the time, every time. 😅

I don’t have Smart Shoks. However, it’s the future, and great technology. You could probably do 2 things here, buy the Smart Shok model, “OR” get ready for this curve ball. Get the regular X RS, and give SDI a call, and ask how much their system is.
I have their system on my Raptor, and it’s unbelievable! And I’m not a paid spokesperson, LOL. Their system on the Raptor allows the shocks to react 500 times a second. With multiple settings. IDK if Can Am’s system can match that?

Excuse my ignorance, SDI?

I have smart shox with ST springs and am super happy with them. You can feel the difference in the settings. In firm you can noticeably tell the system stiffenens the outside shocks in turns, dive in braking and acceleration. Wish it had the full stiff button in the dunes. The XRC is the best choice if you want regular adjustments.

smart shocks are worth their weight in gold. Its awesome to have the extra help when cornering and braking. Then you have different modes for different terrains. I spent thousands more just to get a sxs with smart shock system and i would do it again.

I have SS on my max and love it, but for a specific reason. I don't run any sway bars, so I can run the shocks in soft and have full articulation for crawling, but when we hit a connector road (or anything fast) I can flip it to normal which then the computer helps compensate for body roll. The firm setting is way too stiff for anything I'll be doing, so it doesn't get used.

ST did mine and it has always felt great. Another top name is Tom Morrison that alot of people are very happpy with his work. Out here in Vegas there is another guy that everyone says does great work Robert Campbell at Iron Born Offroad.

I have an 18 that Tom Morris sprung and valved. Friend just bought a new 2023 smart shocks.
My car rides night and day better than his. He cant believe it. Now if he takes his to Tom, not
sure how it would go.
Now that I would be very curious about, can't remember what he said about working on them

Tom did my late 18 as well last year.
