We are going to buy a 2025 Maverick R. We are thinking about getting it with the smart shocks.
Are people having alot of problems with them or do they work great. Has any one heard how they hold up. Thank you

I’ve had my shocks done with new bypass tubes on my X3 and MavR. I will occasionally get a fault and the car goes to stiff, which is a mode and in the dunes, it’s not a big deal. The code will clear itself during the ride. Can’t pin point why it happens. I still really like it.

In stock form, it worked great, the shocks keep the car pretty flat in turns, there’s a remarkable difference.

I have them on my 2023 x3 and they have been fine, no issues at all and they work great. Worth the $$ for me. I haven’t really noticed any problems with them on the R on the forums. A few issues on early first year 2024’s but that’s all I remember seeing. Think it was mostly calibration issues from the factory that got sorted out.

2022 X3 and 2024 Mav R. Both XRS smart shox models. The 2024 had a code on the dealer floor. It was a smashed wire on the left front. Dealer replaced it with the part off another new unit. No issues since or prior. I am very happy with them and they do keep the car flat in the stiffer settings.
These things are like an old version of Microsoft windows. Codes pop up every once in a while for no apparent reason. Turn it off, wait, turn it back on and they go away.

I have the Smart Shox on my MavR since purchase date 12/2023. Had MTS re-valve and re-spring them. Never had a issue since day one.
It's real nice setup being able to change from soft to extreme stiff at the touch of a button. At Glamis, when we have a massive group we camp in the washes, I'll run soft setting until we hit the bowls.
