I really need to figure out why the USFS maps suck for certain areas in Gaia.
So i figured this out and added a new map via the import on GaiaGPS for the Coconino Forests from the Coconino forest maps. Works really well now.

doesn’t look like you where there memorial weekend with the bounce house crew

The land managers up there are appalled by the visitors that weekend

Beautiful shots man looks nice up there this time of year how long of a trip from phoenix is it for you
It was Memorial weekend. But I didn't see much of any patrols at all. The Lake Mary pic is the orange track ending on the shore here. you can see the failed attempts as well haha.

I'm down in Chandler so it takes me about 3-/45 min longer than those guys on the north side. But from my house pulling the trailer I made it in less than 3 hours. If I'm not pulling 2hrs 15 min with a In and Out stop off 74.

I joined a group of people here in LV that enjoy multi day rides in AZ, NV, Colorado, UT and Baja. We've done some pretty amazing trips. The Baja rides usually involve 40 to 45 SxS and motorcycles, and close to a hundred people. The stateside rides are smaller, still between 8 and 20 vehicles are the usual number. About 1/2 the trips are couples. The other half, we pre run routes to make sure we know where we're going, and that our companions will enjoy the trip. A few weeks ago we pre ran for the first time some routes north of Ely Nevada. This past week we took our wives with us. Good times, beautiful country.

A friend of ours has a ranch north of McGill Nevada, we stage from here. There are some huge trout in this small, man made lake.

Four machines in front of me, Ely in the upper left.

Literally sitting on top of a gold mine. Lot's of mineral in this rock, lots of quartz which I understand is often a sign that gold might be found.

Tip top of a bare peak, see for miles.

Ruby Mountains in the distance

Today I staged in Jerome AZ (first photo) and rode to Perkinsville AZ via Perkinsville Road. This road is a cliffhanger for the first 7 or 8 miles, but then it becomes a really fun downhill leading into the Verde River valley where Perkinsville is. After that I went further, exploring a side trail (the train bridge photo) which takes you to a more secluded Verde River swimming spot (it was actually a wrong turn and I went half way, but I see the AWESOME riverside spot on the map tonight), checking out Drake AZ (the industrial photo), and after finding out that my planned route to Williams AZ was a paved 50 mph highway, doubling back to scope out the more technical route to Williams (last photo, FR 354) which I will penetrate much more next time. 78 total miles in the Maverick today.
