I am seriously considering buying the base model. I know the x rs is only 1500 more, but hear me out.
We currently own an xp4 and a rzr s. my wife, daughter and I typically ride in xp4 and love it. My son drives the rzr s. I would be selling the s and getting the maverick. So my son would primarily drive it and my wife would too. I would play in it when I can but it wouldn't be my main ride. We mostly dune ride in ok.
My son loves the s as it is loaded up with elka shocks and such. I had an rzr4 before and the fox 2.0 were great. None of us like the black and yellow and prefer more basic. The gauges don't really matter, as we are typically haulin ass and not paying attention to speed. My son is very light and I have been reading the only big complaint is how stiff the 2.5's are. So I am thinking again, the 2.0's would be fine. The bead locks are not a big deal to us either.
I work in the boat business and some of our dealers are can am dealers. I have a dealer that has a base model right now that I can get a "deal" on. No prep or freight, no sales tax (out of state). He won't get ny more till march and we have a trip planned over spring break . I don't want to miss this op.
Given this info, am I missing anything? Should I wait and get an x rs later? I am leaning toward jumping on this. I don't think my son and wife will be disappointed going from rzr s. I will have so much fun with my turn that I think the base would be fine.
Thoughts?
