Apparently you have not tried it. The liquid does not expand as much as the gas fumes do and you will not have an issue.Apparently you don’t understand that liquid also expands as it is heated.

Also the vapors will compress. Liquid, on the other hand, cannot compress. When it expands it will cause the container to bulge, and even rupture, regardless of what it is made of.Apparently you have not tried it. Yes, very little compared to vapor. I don’t put mine or any gas can out in the sun though.Apparently you don’t understand that liquid also expands as it is heated.
This is from Rotopax's website:Yes, very little compared to vapor. I don’t put mine or any gas can out in the sun though.
Fully filled Rotopax properly placed “in” the car (out of the sun) will not expand
Mine has never leaked. Even if it does leak it is going through one of the 10 million holes in the skid plate. Those Rotopax are really tough. The 2 gallon under the passenger seat was the other option I was considering. Just wondering if the cap may leak since it will be laying on its side
what happens if it leaks while you are upside down or on your side?Mine has never leaked. Even if it does leak it is going through one of the 10 million holes in the skid plate. Those Rotopax are really tough.
Have you looked at the Giant Loop fuel bags? Another good option

Not going to leak on anything that will spark a fire. Those rotopax are pretty tough. I have not had an issue with mine on the floorboard or under the passenger seat.what happens if it leaks while you are upside down or on your side?
Very Nice! What size container is that?I've made a few of these for that reason. The idea of having a fuel tank on the cage is bad.

I would take a fuel tank on the cage over a fuel tank inside the passenger compartment (which is illegal on most road vehicles for a reason).
