Noticed the rear diff on my Max XRS gets pretty hot, so I checked it. I've measured temps between 167 - 198 on different areas of the housing. I assume this is normal, but seems very hot. I don't recall my RZR diff getting this hot, but maybe it did. Anybody else (maybe some racers) check their rear diff temps.

Blame the temps on the exhaust just above it.....I wrapped the mid pipe that is closest to the diff and it appeared to have helped a lot just by touching it with my hand.....

ya iv always wondered y the rear diff gets so hot, u can even feel the heat transfer into the chassis around the diff. probably because of that dam Cat...

exactly......I am waiting to see all of the battery failures from the heat.

Hey guys I put a mav rear diff in my commander and I have added ws2 to the oil and it runs cooler now by a fair bit ,

75-140. We run straight 250w in some of the U4 cars so it's not like its overkill or anything.
Thanks Alex....do you notice any difference in sound
