I live in Arizona and ride throughout the state, Glamis and Sand Hallow and my 2020 Can Am X3 Turbo RR has overheated multiple times. I have installed the TCP Performance HE radiator plus the Geiser large capacity coolant reservoir and a new NiceCNC thermostat and housing. The car does run cooler, however still gets hot. I am looking for any information about potential fan upgrades or fan and shroud upgrades. I have also found a couple of brushless fan motor options, does anybody have any experience with this modification. Anxious to hear how others are dealing with the overheating issues. Thank you

It’s well known that the 2020 and up RR versions run a bit warmer than the R and previous versions. I recommend you search here as this topic has been covered at length multiple times.

First and foremost if the car has overheated multiple times, there is probably an underlying issue, perhaps a head gasket at the worst or an issue with the water pump or drive gears. They are plastic. If you haven’t at least checked the pump condition and the gears, I would start there.

I would also recommend installing a radiator fan override switch so you can get the fan on earlier than what’s programmed in the ECU. In my opinion the fan comes on at too high a temperature for high ambient temperature riding.

Last I recommend you consider speaking with Chris Blais at Blais racing. He has done lots of testing in the desert and has found that by adding an external oil cooler and bypassing the unit on the engine, his coolant temps have dropped by nearly 30 degrees.

My car is a 2020 RR and I ride in the summer here in Tucson and have never had the car overheat. I do have an override switch for both the radiator and intercooler fans.
