just installed the oem rear bumper on max. in doing that I had to remove a single metal cross bar, there is no way for it to go back on. straight bumper, non receiver hitch installed. looking anywhere I can I don't see that going back on as possible. is this correct, seems it would lose a little side to side control but it is not made to return and go back on from what I can tell.

there is a support, like a 8 inch or so piece of steel that bolts down where the rear bumper(oem) connects to frame. it wont go back on with the oem bumper. however I would think it should as a support, or does it not. its removed when you put on oem bumper, just seems it should go back on but im not sure it does? anyone know for usre

Don't have a Max, but I put a bumper on my Maverick and didn't have left over pieces.
