I know, here we go again!!!

So I was at st Anthony for 9 days last week, rained almost entire time again. I had (2) full sets of tires. 30/11/14 10 paddle extremes and Tom's (TIK in forum, he runs them on his X3 DS) full set 28" #2 STU paddles with 3 rib fronts

Extremes: throw sand like crazy, lots of wheel speed, the fronts even buffed do help in 4wd, very fast on top end, decent stability when dunning at high speed, 7" rims all corners, running 9 psi = conclusion, not enough tire for tuned machines, would be perfect on stock machine though

STU 28" #2 : more paddles helped launch harder, not throwing as much sand, more stable while dunning due to being wider, 4wd didn't seem much different, turned better, slower on top end, being shorter was noticeable as that extra ground clearance is needed when coming into dips fast not wanting to plow front end carrying momentum, 8 wide rims front, 10" rear, overall weight was close on fronts, rears were few lbs heavier each, running 9psi = conclusion, molded are less fragile in lave / rocky area, would prefer these in 30" if I was to buy, they dune better when running high speed due to width, would even consider a #1 paddle maybe?

If it's any hint of wet sand, stock 30" tires aired down do better then any paddle, I saw stock machines doing very well while it was slightly wet, as things dried out paddles had advantage

So now I am going to buy a set of 31.5" or 30"stagger rippers and run them on 8" front and back I think, there goes another $2k

Can I ask for some good sources to buy skats from? Do they ever offer any discounts on these tires?

Thanks SoCalMav,Have same tires on order but with 7 front 8 rear wheel and am now interested in a 8 front 10 Rear, maybe a little better handling with a larger wheel when duning. They look great...how do you like them so far compared to other paddle set ups you have ran,by chance are those from extreme or another supplier.
Thanks

That's a reach, lame at best. You should go back to telling us that Polaris has everything under control with build quality, and customer satisfaction. Not as big of a reach, but still a reach.

Should an 2017 XRS beat a 2017 XPT up Olds and the drags? Both 2 seaters with paddles. XRS has 31.5 10 paddle skats on 7" rims. XPT has STU on 9" rims (I think). I have the XRS and from what everyone has told me about the car and the paddle set up I have I should be beating the XPT's but I wasn't. It was close on the drags but I leave so late on the start. Same with the drags but I end up about 2 cars behind instead of one on the drags. Anything I should try?

so,

I ran my big rippers with my new stage 4rwi and the 18' update, all tires were at 12.5 psi. All I can say is I whipped some asses and had a blast at sand mountain. The X3 is amazing thats for sure. My friends said with my straight pipe they new every-time I was on the big hill racing no matter where they were.

As always there were a few faster cars, an apex, a yzf with huge turbo kit (claimed it was 275hp, but it was a donkey until past the whoops), a 14' xp 1000 with big turbo doing 25psi+, an X3 with evo 6 big turbo on e-85 and stock muffler with cat delete and a few others. There were also several that wouldn't line up so I would hang back and troll until they raced their buddy's and would jump in from behind and pass them, had to do this several times. One guy followed me back to camp just to see what the hell I had done to make his 18 rzr look like it was standing still. As a test we took a GPS with a passenger and was at 62 top of hill and climbing, without was at 66. Speedo with these 31.5 runs a solid 4-5 low, FYI

I would let the cute rzr's start first and walk them like nothing, it was amazing the amount of attention the power got. Some claimed I had way more done as mine ran to good apparently. I wish I was on commission as I helped sell a ton of evo tunes and can ams thats for sure. I ate the 18 2-seat rzr up with the fancy shocks as well, his friends asked me to line up with him so I did and I honestly thought he was standing still, he also complained mine was heavily modified, typical 2nd place reply.

overall good times, I will work on some clutch tuning and hopefully gain a little more as I kept my crack pressure just shy of what evo wanted to be safe as well. Will be back in a few weeks with it set at max and may try a little more tire pressure and a few small adjustments to my shock therapy. I also could use my clutch as a stall to launch as it doesn't engage until 2200 but I wanted to be nice to my belt this trip

I couldn't believe he ran like that, he pulled the heat shields and the rear plastic cover, cut the cat out and had the turbo running e-85. He was cranking the gate crack pressure up and said he kept blowing his tubes off? I was stronger on the bottom I think due to my clutch and my shocks especially if we were lined up in the whoops but he would drive by me on top, he also had the 31.5 with 12 extreme paddles I think. He said he was shocked I was that close and swore I had more done as he wasn't that much faster then me. I wonder if his exhaust or lack of a free flowing muffler held him back. It had stock clutches and was pulling 8000+ rpm, this is at 4500' elevation.

He also ran no clutch cover

yep

there was another 18' X3 w/ evo 3 with 31.5 but 9 paddle extremes and he couldn't get out of the hole and lost against his friends 18' rzr 2-seat xpt with stage 3 bikeman I think also had the computer controlled shocks. He had to have me come show him up and take his crown, it was kind of fun as I poured it on as much as I could, then went and drank beer with them while they took a microscope to my X3. A couple times I went up the hill and forgot I was in 2wd and these rippers were straight shoveling the sand.

he does a lot of jumping so that's why we think he rubs, not sure a DS would clear them the same as they don't crank up as high (only like 14.5 on the one I did for a friend on this forum). Yes these are the 100RO that are actually 104+ and then add the paddle height and he runs his at 14psi, I like mine at 12.5. Tim wants us to do 16psi

Agree, but at Dumont and glamis needs higher psi where he is at

Utah, winnemucca, sand mnt Nevada and st Anthony we run a little lower, I run 12.5, my friends that came to st Anthony with their 31.5 (10) paddles ran them at 10psi as 16psi like Tim recommended wasn't working
