Bummer on the transmission. I hope it works out. Were you in auto or manual mode when it was popping out of gear? The transmission is why I went to the Mav R. I certainly hope I don’t have the same issues. My exhaust and intake would be reasons to deny a warranty I’m sure. I am also in the process of getting the motor and trans tunes from EVO (definitely a warranty killer). It’s supposed to really help the drivability in the dunes.

I was in Phoenix this week for work and took a little time out to go by Sandcraft and Shock Therapy to check out the facilities and pick up some swag. Both places were great. Brandon at Sandcraft took the time to show me around the facility. Their own Mav R looked amazing on 35” Slayer paddle's with 17” Metal FX wheels. I didn’t take pictures but they are working on some killer bump stops that tie in to the cage. The welding and machine work were top notch. They also had a crazy Frankenstein 4 seat Turbo S in progress with a massive long travel completely custom front end. The huge boxed arms were moved as far forward as they could and was held up by trophy truck sized 3” King multi bypass coil overs. The craziest part was the back half. Turned the 4 seat to a 2 seat and the back half was a Pro R. It looked insane with the Turbo S body and the Pro R giant trailing arms. It’s going to be a weapon in the dunes for sure. It was cool to see the tire manufacturing process and they have some bad ass things coming.
Shock Therapy was cool too. I had a chance to talk to Steve about the Mav R and some of the things they are doing. It was great being able to shoot the shit and ask questions about the car. The shop is super clean and well organized.
You AZ guys that can just drive down to all the places in the area and pick up parts whenever you want don’t know how good you have it.

So is it much more quiet than the X3 CVT ?
Yes, there is still plenty of mechanical noises and the transmission sounds different but overall it is quieter. Where you really notice it is when you’re just cruising around at 30-50mph or any constant speed. Then it becomes relaxed, up shifts, the revs drop and it’s night and day better than drone of a cvt.
one thing that I don’t like is the shifting is all by wire now. You can’t get a shit gate and slam it into reverse if your trying to save yourself. The car rolls back fine if you lift off the throttle but it’s not the same. Changing gear from forward to reverse requires you to put your foot on the brake and only then will it shift so that might turn some of the hard core rock crawlers off.

Is that the canam windshield with there wiper setup?
Yes, and the wiper installation is 10x easier than the X3. If you get one remember to get a wiring harness. It doesn’t come with everything you need now as there are 2 different harness’s depending on if you have the smart controller for BRP accessories or not.

I’m working on the last upgrades until the next last time. Double E rear sway bar. It relocates the sway bar up one hole. Yellow marks the drill or grind spots.

I got it all together and dropped off at Addiction for the full MTS treatment. Forgot to get pictures as I was in such a rush to get it down there. The EVO exhaust trim plate and a little plastic had to be trimmed to relocate the sway bar mounting bracket, but it felt great on the short shake down ride I did to make sure there were no articulation impacts. Pick it up Friday. I picked the “float on a cloud of titties” valving package. Soft, supple, yet firm, full stiff in the G spot.
