Glad to be here This is a great forum - I bought a used 2017 154 horse, 2000 mi at King of the Hammers, it's fast enough to stay up with friends with stock 170 horse X3's but won't stay up with my brother's 2022 X3.
I recently changed the exhaust out to the RPM exhaust with a cat delete pipe, installed the razorback infrared belt temp, RPM clutch blower and turbo boost gauge, have a 2020 air box and smooth boot coming along with a BOV assembly.
I had a Shock Therapy appointment set up for Glamis for the shock and spring rebuild but I backed out after seeing how their shock and spring rebuild had worked out on my older brother's RMAX. Shock Therapy had told my brother that the difference afterwards would be like night and day, I really didn't see any difference at all with the RMAX so I reconsidered and called the $2500 deal off until I become more knowledgeable. Money's tight so I have to be value conscious, but I still need to be competitive with my other brothers 2022 X3 machine. Any suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated!

This is really a great forum I doubt that our other X3 friends are on here though most of them are bling boys and not performance minded, so I'm thinking maybe I can get a leg up. Anyway I'm very glad to be here

Welcome from Tucson, Az. If your near here I'd love to let you feel a full shock therapy set up on 35s. We don't dune or hit whoops but it'll eat em really good with the kids asleep in the back. This rig follows hard obstacles and hard lines but compared to stock height and ride its water and wine!

Thank you for the offer Bigchrukin, unfortunately I live in northern cali (Yreka). I also looked at the King shocks while at KOH, they said they would help me tune the shocks in on the buggy. I'm still reading and learning. Water and wine - I like that, the night and day thing kinda lost impact with the RMAX deal. I still can't figure out what my brother sees in that RMAX

My first and only ride was KOH, my brothers do Glamis, Pismo, Oregon dunes and Utah, so I will follow along. We are in our mid '70s (OGs - Old Guys) and intend on having fun till we can't. I have been riding motorcycles my whole life, but holding up 900 lbs of motorcycle has gotten old. I have an electric buggy on order, but it would have to be something special to be more fun than this X3!

Yes, it is a Brawley. I am an electronic engineer and spent several years doing electric motor designs and evaluations for a major disc drive company, so I have motor experience. I would love to get my hands on even a beta version of it to see what their motor firmware looks like. I kinda thought I might see one at the KOH, the UTUBE video shows them lined up being built
