I sure hope it'll work. I already told me dealer to keep me posted and order one if it's a retrofit. I can't see Cam not making it work for us.

 

If you don’t need the different modes and don’t have an extended warranty, the Halo product works perfectly.

I think I would be interested if this can be retrofitted to a non RC x3.....but I wonder at what cost?

 

With it being computer controlled I bet this would be a major undertaking.

I think Halo is the best bet.

What will be the impact with this change? Forgive my ignorance.

 

Dealer told me today that its not likely, just his opinion, but he said different ecu and 2 wiring harness, full diff and cv axles...local service manager at a dealer

I'm thinking BRP will offer this on other models in the future, it's already offered on a Defender. The Visco is the only thing Polaris owners have to chat about. I think it would be a big benefit for BRPs sales if they did.

 

My diff isn't working correctly.

They need to be sure they have it right before they expand it.

It's been at the dealer 2 days now and BRP is trying to help the dealer, although it doesn't sound like a lot of trying as of now on BRP's end. Tim

 

I saw something about this on one of the fb pages. His was tripping a check engine light. He had to hold the smart lock button to both engage and disengage the diff. If he just clicked the switch off it would trigger a CEL.

It seems to work properly from what I can tell, it just trips the "check smart lock" across the display after full diff lock only. The actual smartlock mode doesn't do it. Tim

You can steer it but you need to be in max dps or its really heavy. You can really tell when its in full diff lock. Tim

 

While it’s not in the ECU (yet) I wouldn’t be surprised to see that it can be added on or potentially come with a stand alone unit to run the locker. Look at the leaps and bounds the aftermarket companies made with power steering units after the fact.

 

So it’s no different than the halo as far as steering goes and the halo is a stronger unit. Thx for the reply tim

 

I don't think you understand or we miscommunicated, you said " fully locked" the diff has different settings one being full lock, then 2 different settings rock and trail, they release as you steer. Fully locked has no smart lock feature, like a Halo.

I don't know how anyone knows whats stronger as this has only been out 3 weeks, has someone pulled one apart?

I have only seen the cutaway BRP had. The Halo cases are a lot thicker than our stock unit. That’s all I was saying. The smart lock feature is definitely interesting though and well designed
