What stands out to me about these videos of the new R Is the fact that there are multiple cars, being driven hard (even up to 100mph), by at least a few top drivers, pushing the cars...and no issues/breakdowns. Contrast that with Speed's rollout of the first 10 cars, driven easy, single file...with several breaks and none of them allowed to go home.

I noticed Cleetus hitting over 100 and was thinking
he is self admittedly not a big off-road driver ( sxs bog last week ) and I was wondering what might happen when the general population hops in one of these and balls it up in an wash ?
lets face it self control and common sense are no longer the norm lol

we lost the three wheelers to gov help I wonder if the gov will get involved with the power output ?

That could be a concern.

Maybe they limit the top speed lower which I bet will be the case with what we get now or soon after.

Agreed but when I hit 85 ( speed limited?) my 23RR merging into traffic I was caught off guard

sally hittin 103 may have a real problem on her hands since even with better handling non of these has crash absorption

Its only about 8-10 MPH faster than the current X3, so it not much different

 

I dont think that will be the case.. They said the car will do 150KPH/95+MPH... It will stay there when released.

 

As I've said before, I see no way around eventual government intrusion. When mistakes happen (which they inevitably do off-road), things get bent at 40mph; but people get hurt (or worse) at 80+mph. It's sad to say, but it's likely that many SxS owners really shouldn't be SxS owners.

Not "conditioning" myself at all, just seeing the writing on the wall, as I've "been there, done that" before. If we don't take responsibility for ourselves, the government WILL do it for us. Unfortunately, many are already perfectly happy letting government take care of them; it's a slippery slope that we are well down already. Pretending otherwise won't make it go away.

They can limit the top speed all they want. Ppl will just tune and delete it. It called natural selection. The ppl that shouldn’t go that fast will fix the problem them self. Because you know the same ppl won’t be wearing helmets or any other protective gear. Be out there in there half bill hat and flip flops.

 

The last few previous years have been difficult to get into.

I bet this new one has even better encryption. I hope we can get in, but it may be expensive and or impossible.

I’m sure the tires that come on the new R are speed rated to how ever fast it can go. And after that any changes you make from factory is your problem. Just like on cars and trucks

 

My buddy Rick has bought, built, and flipped several OG Broncos. This one has a 351W stroked to 408(?), Tremec 6 speed, etc.

 

Well I just pre-ordered the new car with smart-shox. Dealer said December delivery is what Can-Am told them. I guess I’m about to finally be part of the Can-Am family lol

Pulled the trigger on a black maverick r xr s with sport shocks the essentials package got for msrp plus $1500 for freight, assembly, whatever other fee’s they have. Have bought from them before so went to my sales guy and said you know what I want. And he looked confused like I could see in his head does he want a pro r ? And was then like the new new maverick R and I’m like really of course and I’m not paying these crazy ass idiot fees you know me I sit here and complain till it’s not worth having me in the dealership loudly complaining about how I spend 50k in service on each car but I end up buying them from another dealer that gives me either no fees or a huge discount. And for him to drop it to 1500 like instantly and I guess being an ordered car not one they bought. Because I think a lot of people are going to want this yellow and black one. And dealers ordered those. And they had a lot of stock from pro r’s to x3 max x rs turbo rr sport shocks like multi of all the cars pretty much even the crazy Polaris weird 6 seater looking thing. I did the deal in 2 min literally. Oct delivery said first couple weeks. So we’ll see. Also talked to someone at zrp I know and they are getting me and I paid for black zrp/Apex rims and 35in bfg’s. Will leave it like this for now. Not sure what else I could do. But the videos really sold it and the zrp rims and 35’s and dj’s front tire land video and across the water shocked me something didn’t explode on impact blew me away.
