I think people really forget how much these things REALLY cost. $35k is the entry price, then you have to spend money like crazy to brace things and make it more durable. So if it was $50k and setup more like a race car woth a great chassis and really sturdy, I think it would actually be cheaper.

name something that you can buy new for $50k can do ALL the same things and so them as well.

 

I have a customer in belgium with a T-Regulation Trail.
T-Regulation models Maverick Trail, Maverick Sport and I believe Traxter(defender) Have anti-lock brakes and a few other things, different fenders with lights molded into them, hitch, trailer plugs, mirrors, signal lights and maybe a few other things. one thing I found odd was the T-regulation Sport and Sport Max have no front doors, just nets.

 

I do agree the current economy and interst rates will have an affect on the market for a higher priced machine.

Yes, many if not most people have an additonal $10-20K in aftermaret upgrades into their machines. I know I do, and I could very easily put another $20K into it in a heart beat.
Then there is all of the "associated" cost that one incurs owning one. Vehicle to pull with, trailer, servicing, tools, gas, food etc.


Disposable income is being streatched to the imit at an alarming rate as we speak, who knows what will happen a year or two from now. I know Bidenomics has cost/lost me well over $150k a year since he's been in office.

Credit card and installment debt in America is rising at an alarming rate, and it will tank many people who rely on them. It will only last so long.
It just may well be only those in the upper middle/upperclass that will be able to afford them. But they will be sold.

 

Unless you’re a person that buys it and leaves stuff stock. No matter the side by side looking at an extra 10 to 15k

The first year that the Pro R(ultimate) came out many dealers were selling for way over msrp, people were buying them up, and they were very hard to find/get because they were not available. Still not easy in some areas and still some markups.
I think this will happen the same way for the new 24' X? (top of the line), even if people bi*ch and complain about the price, they will sell.
At first, people complained about the 40k price on the Pro R(ultimate), now you don't hear a peep about the price.

 

This is more of a supply problem than a demand problem though. The demand does indeed outpace the supply but it isn’t like there are 10’s of thousands of people lining up to buy $45k weekend toys. The supply is still very low. This has been the case for most goods over the last few years, especially cars and atv’s. Lack of supply drives up price.
I’ve been saying it for a while, they can raise interest rates forever but it’s not going to stop inflation. It won’t stop until the supply of goods starts to meet demand again.

 

On thing with the PRO R is you don't have as many upgrades from the get go!

I’m not sure that picture is the new one. That looks like the exact same engine, transmission, rear diff, and rear suspension in the current model. You can even see the belt and secondary.

Yea and that has a supercharger. Or I guess you can call it a pro charger. Both work the same way they are belt driven.

 

The upper link rod is different that the current design. They could just be using the old engine to not let the cat out of the bag.

I see one of two scenarios.
A) It’s either a taller tire than factory in the drawing, being exaggerated and not to scale
B) the patent drawing isn’t what is actually being produced.

I can definitely see a knuckle design very similar to what Ford Raptors and most vehicles have. Tall upright with the balljoint inboard away from the tire

Taller tires effect bump steer and scrub. They want this system to STAY 100% limited to keep it all in spec (what ever that is) Or they are just not letting it be know that it will support a 35 or 37" tire.

I'm sure the aftermarket will come up with something for larger tires if not.

Taller tires do not affect bump steer, only scrub radius.
A taller tire reduces scrub radius slightly. That is a good thing in the case of the X3.

Bump steer is strictly a function of the steering geometry.

Looking at the front suspension i cant help but think that when bottomed out, they are standing the tires on their sides (camber) a bit to increase ground clearance (taller tire).

I also like how the front shock is mounted on the lower arms with the up-right mounts instead of the shock fork design like on the Pro R that seem prone to failing.
