I believe it’s only a few weeks until the on-line dealers meeting, just wondering Wtf anyone thinks is about to happen/change for the 2024 lineup. I’m waiting to buy a new XMR RR
What should change on the Mavs anyone dead against anything currently bugging them?

I don't want my "phone" to determine the capabilities or features.

Phones are great! My Icon suspension on my Bronco, I can soften or stiffen it up with the push of a button on the app. Just like electric batteries, everything is heading that way.

Are you able to do all the same features with ease without the phone?

Nope, can’t do any. Shocks are electronic driven. Once installed, only way to do anything is with a phone. It’s actually pretty sweet. I have a similar system on my Raptor, SDI EClik. Their system you can use the gage inside the truck. Either way, pretty sweet to make shock changes from the driver’s seat.

Of course if the ECU fails, I can see being stuck on the setting you have picked. Hopefully, that won’t happen anytime soon, LOL.
To ad to that, I didn’t know until I bought it, and it was installed, that it was only compatible to an IOS system with an iPhone. I called Icon, and asked why I couldn’t find their app on my Droid. They said iPhone only! So I had to get an iPhone, LOL!

It’s the future. Get on board, or get left behind. Everything is headed in that direction. If the new BRP model is that way, you won’t but one?

Nope
Hard to say on that.. Would need a lot more info before I would make that call. From the patent drawling it appears that most of it can be done from the wheel/dash.. hopefully that is the case!

Could be, IDK.

Change scares everybody, even me!

I'll give you / everybody a very big example of change, definitely for the better. 10 years ago roughly, no dirt bike (possibly KTM) was electric start. Now they all do except for Suzuki, and they’re hanging on by a thread. Hell, I just read that KTM’s 2 strokes are now electric start, and I thought that was impossible! 10 years ago, no dirt bike had programmable ECUs, with different downloadable maps. Now they all do. Yamahas you can do by phone. Other ECUs need to go to tuners, just like SXSs. It’s progression, isn’t for everybody but……
If it is anything like the gauges on the ski-doo it is a hard pass for me, all the control is through the touch screen which is cool, navigation is done through the BRP App, as well as mapping and the very lame implementation of buddy tracking. All of which works while you have cell service, They have an unreleased update that will have a stand alone GPS chip so it could track your ride without the phone, it has not been released. Current implementation requires the cell phone screen to be on for it to work. I believe it was an addition of 2k on the snowmobiles.

Was a nice looking screen, but did not add any value to the snowmobile.

I have no issues with progress, I think it is a great thing.

My lifetime work experience with anything Bluetooth or app related, it is soon obsolete and abandoned long before the hardware wears out. We have lots of control devices not supported by current versions of Windows, Bluetooth and iOS versions. Need to keep old junk computers mothballed just for the occasional single use on something no longer supported.

I understand your / everyone’s concerns. I’m not saying it’s going to be phone driven, IDK. But “me”, it wouldn’t stop me from getting one, that’s all.

For me it's not about the change or way of the future, it's the concept of having to be dependent on an entirely different control device as your phone that isn't related at all to the vehicle.

Now if they wish to include their own moble device that was specifically designed for the vehicle along with their support, that may be a different story, however I still would want the ability to use an onboard or override system. Or the option to use a phone.

Then there's a whole "nuther" bunch of issues with the cell phone thing, No, I'm not, nor willing to switch my phone to Apple IOS system, not offering both seem a bit odd.

What if I'm needing to use the phone, voice texting, voicemails, zoom or meets, or even for GPS etc. at the same time I need it to operate the machine?

Or when the phone is updating or no service? Or dead battery etc.
Too many vulnerabilities IMO.
