Hey guys,

Just got my new wheels and tires and so pumped with the System 3’s. Jumped up to 32’s on 15” beadlocks. These are the new System 3 DX440 tire. They look incredible and hopefully ride just as good as they look. What do you guys think?

Firstly, how do you keep your machine looking so pristine and new? Ours (buddy & I with same model year as yours) have over 7k miles on each and the plastics definitely show that much trail usage.

Secondly, I wasn't familiar with DX440 Tires, so googled and included their link. Why did you choose those specifically? As reported elsewhere, we've been running Maxxis Carnivore 32x10-14 majority of those miles and we'll do our last run locally tomorrow morning before having Maxxis Rampage 32x10-14 already on hand installed next Weds morning. Our objectives for Arizona's rocky granite granite terrain are a combo of; tread pattern for steering control in loose terrain, closer lug spacing for (hopefully) fewer punctures between those and reasonably high durometer rating for longevity. The Carnivore lasted longer than expected and Rampage is reportedly a bit harder compound.

In any case, your machine along with those tires and wheels look great! (y)
That thing is clean! Nice looking ride.

Haha, I'm known for being that guy in my crew. For one, I definitely don't have 7k miles on mine. Good for you, wish I could ride that much. I do have a process when cleaning - powerwash the dirt off, powerwash with foam soap, sponge clean, dry, then I use wd40 with a rag on all metal parts (suspension, motor, etc.), and then I spray & wipe the whole machine with Slick Rock (I like this much better than SC1). The stuff is amazing at bringing plastic back to life and it makes the dirt come right off next time.

This DX440 tire just came out and caught my attention right away. I definitely wanted a 32", but I wanted a lightweight & fast rolling tire. These 32x10x15 are only 37 lbs each. Especially since the machine is naturally aspirated, I really wanted a light tire for less wear and tear on the drivetrain. The XRC is so nimble and quick to turn, I don't think it needs an overly aggressive tire. In fact I like the Liberty's for this reason, but I don't like them for the width of the tread. I feel like the machine pushes at high speed turns because of the wide tread pattern. It could just be my feeling, but I'm looking forward to trying out the narrower tread pattern. They also have a super deep rim guard to protect the wheels.

The price and deal on fueledutv.com was insane on the setup and if nothing else, it looks incredible in person! How is your machine doing at 7k miles?

Interesting reply on all aspects...

We both bought and used Maxima SC1 but found it didn't last long and attracted even more dust grime. I'll have to check out the 'Slick Rock' stuff as another alternative product. Ironically, I waxed my Jeep Rubicon today and applied the SC1 to plastic roof, fender flares plus F&R powder coated steel bumpers. Mainly for UV protection but looks great now!

Interesting on those tires, which seems will serve you well for limited mileage usage. Our own objectives and terrain perhaps being somewhat different.

Definitely agreed on MavS Xrc nimbleness on mountain trails compared to anything else we considered then or now. As my sig shows, this is my (as is my buddy's) 2nd machine in platform with prox 4k on MavT and now 7k+ on MavS with no reliability issues. Well, with exception of my buddy's from our last time out recently which resulted in lousy running - mostly on one Rotax 1000R v-twin cylinder. We suspected bad gas, so drained and refilled but that didn't nearly resolve. Subsequently trailered to our local Can-Am dealer who determined bad fuel injector. Final diagnosis was by the "sniff test" on both injectors which reeked of diesel fuel. Our suspicion is not that my buddy screwed up by pumping "green" but instead that the island pump he used vs I did same time at other end of station drew from a tank perhaps polluted with diesel by the tanker truck guy. Costly in the end, however not a BRP reliability issue we believe. Regardless, that issue on cum of prox 22k combined miles on (4) vehicles in this platform is impressive, IMO...
