Hi guys,

i am about to knock my head on the wall over this, i hate choosing tires and it was the same with my jeep lol

I have a hard time choosing between roctane xd, blackwater and traxion gripper and maybe the Bajacross radial.

All in 30'' and 14'' rims

40% trail riding
25% mud
25% mixed rock, sand etc...
10% pavement from my camping spot to the trails

i want to know about the tred life and handlaing

i know that the roctane are the heaviest of the bunch 36 pounds
the blackwaters are 33 pounds
and teh traxion gripper 28 front 30 rear

somebody here said that the blackwater wear fast and he was missing chunks and didn't have lost of mile on them at that time can someone chime on that.
does the rocktane still have leaks probleme or is it solved and is true that ride like hell at hight speed ?

i have a stock Maverick Max 2014 the base one with a 3'' traxion braket lift.

thank you.

Look at the 30x10x14 Dirt Commanders AREED aka Alex Reed at CT Race Worx can hook you up. So far I am in love with them. I have ran allot of tires and these are the best out right now!

I run 29x9x14 8 ply tires. Run okay on pavement at 72mph.

I have Rocktane XD tires on my side by side. Had it a 60 + many times this weekend and the ride was very smooth. The leak issue has been taken care of but I have seen a few people every now and then that say they have an issue. STI is excellent of taking care of an problems.

I can tell you the Rocktane XD's are tough. I ride the deserts in the winter and the mountains in the summer. Both are full of boulder strewn trails. They have handled the boulders without failing for over 600 miles.

My vote is for Original Big Horns, Sorry I know not on your list, But they just work, Period! durable, hook up great, and wear is awesome! I hate the looks of them, but its all I run now. My second vote is Roctanes. Seem to work well. And have good reviews, I'm not a fan of Dirt commanders, They hook pretty good, but wear like butter. especially with any road ridding!!

Did you buy those tires locally or order them, that's a good price, I'm in Alberta and can't find anything near that price.

Do you guys running the 30's have any problems with the tires hitting the back of the headlights?

ive run 30in Evos and mongrels and not hit the lights but I know Alex has said he has before . It would take a hard G-out or jump to do it. Not something that just rubs all the time

Look behind my passenger fender.... Rubs for shore... I do have the ext fender flare.. Had to take a bolt out to stop that from rubbing. I love the Kanati mongrel... Amazing tire.., wish they made a 29. I might go 28 next time just to get a way from the rubbing in the rear. My car is HEAVY so compression of suspension happens eve with the aftermarket HD springs. image.jpg image.jpg

Adjust the coil on the suspension. Crank it down some and it will give u the extra clearance u need to clear the 30s
