Thought I was going to get a nice reinforced belt housing, only to find the shop over achieved and sprayed both sides. Before I try to install can anyone confirm that the additional thickness on the back where it mounts is going to screw this up and I'll just go fight with the shop. Thx!

I dont know what to say except maybe see if it fits, it looks like they sprayed everything so the openings might not fit anymore , I bought a bearing greaser and the powder coating on it was so thick it wouldn't go in the bearing , thats a bummer

Same thing happened to me.
Touched the back side with a grinder and a flapper wheel in a couple spots.
Your linex spray job looks more ambitious than mine, might need some love with a razor knife.

Just clean up the mating surface and run it.

Part of the Linex Process it has to encapsulate what ever your putting it on. It adheres to itself more than it does to the part you spray it on is my understanding of how it works.

Saw this referenced in another belt housing thread and realized I am lame and never finished the story As suggested, cleaned up the mounting faces and mounted it right up. While I haven't grenaded a belt to get the final verdict, so far it's working out just fine so anyone getting this done just get both sides sprayed! Apologies for the 6 month delayed update...

Can someone draw some circles on a housing picture to show the areas that need to be masked off?
I haven't had my housing off yet so I don't want to assume anything.

Go to my first post and see the picture for the inside portion to mask off. If I did it again, I'd mask off the groove where the seal goes, the holes the cover screws go in, and the mounting surfaces on the back, pretty much around the bolt holes.
