i scored a Baja 540c off craigs list for $300. mounted the antenna on the hood and the unit on my front crossbar. I wanted to put the antenna on the roof but the cord was too short and no one in town had an extension. I love these older units, very easy to use and not $600. yup i am a cheapass mofo
