So, how do I get around this while dealing with a forum vendor?

Not sure, but if you hadn't posted in general forums and tried to PM more than once, it possibly could be how head office techs have set messaging filters to prevent multi-PM "backroom"scamming.

You can always introduce yourself to the community and take part in discussions.
