Tore my front inner CV boot today, dealer doesn't have one and has to order it for $40. I'm suppose to leave for a ride in the morning so I was wondering if anyone knew of a CV boot part number from an auto part store that will work? I searched the forum but didn't find anything for the front inner. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I went through their book looking at dimensions and figuring out what part numbers they stocked and got close. The inner bell measured 2.525 and the shaft measured .875. The part number listed is neoprene and had dimensions of 2.550 by .750. The small side actually stretched nicely over the shaft for a tight seal and the large side fit about as good as stock.

Just be sure to clean the bell with brake cleaner or alcohol so there is no grease residue on it before clamping the boot so it can't slip off. I also just used a dull pair of side cuts to close the clamp, no special tool needed. Boot comes with clamps and grease.
