Looking for mounting ideas from those with fresh air systems. I had a cheapie using a bilge blower behind my seat it worked ok and I like the air but want something better. For me it's between the PCI Race Dual and Rugged MAC 3.2. Challenge for me is mounting the pump. I have a speaker bar on the 2.5 bar. Looking for other ideas and pics.

Thanks

Tony

I have both the Rugged Mac 3.2 and the PCI Race Air. I differnt cars. I prefer the PCI because it has the Roll Bar mounts included for 1.5"/1.75" or 1.85"/2.5". Rotate the bracket 90 degrees to change between 1.5" and 1.75" or 1.85" and 2.5". Also has integrated Variable Speed Controller. Rugged the Variable Speed Controller is a separate purchase, as well as the Roll Bar Mount.

As far as function, they both work equally as well. Rugged wins the looks with the Blue Carbon Fiber.

You dumb sob. Don't you know you can just ask the same effing question over and over and some poor sheep will respond LOL.. Did you happen to check out the new air pumper from S&B at the Sand Show? Looks like a mini particle separator and think they said it should be available next month. I am leaning towards going with that one especially after watching my buddies dealing with clogged filters on their Rugged and PCI setups.

A lot of noise from air pumpers can be attributed to your helmet setup. Many times, helmets with a side air inlet direct the incoming air straight at your microphone, so you get to hear the actual air itself as well as the amplified sound of the air through your intercom. Helmets with a top or top offset inlet are much quieter.

So I got majority of my rugged coms and pumper installed tonight. I'm at a roadblock as to where to mount the Variable Speed Controller. I was hoping to run it in place of the start button on their mount but the shifter knob hits it in park. I'm leaning towards left of the steering wheel on the dash right above/behind the left side switches. I was thinking of running it inside the iPad mount but went against that being I wanted it in a accessible spot to adjust if needed.

Does anyone have any other clean spots where you've mounted yours? Hoping it's just late and I'm not thinking.

after two trips with my pumper I run it on 100%, just like others in my group. The Rugged controller is a poorly designed hard to place unit. I have mine on the right side of the dash next to the key going forward and aft. I will be removing it and just running an on/off switch. And eventually a switch Pro.

Be careful with the zip ties holding the hoses. The material between the ribs is very thin and could be cut by the plastic zipties. I used strips of double sided soft Velcro.

Also, that fan near your head will drive you nuts. Damn thing is super loud.
