ok, still trying to figure something out. what about one of those thick ass truck radiator hoses, slit it down the middle and wrap it over the mav rad hose. its super thick rubber, would that provide a great more deal of protection until something better comes along? you know those hoses that are tough to cut even with a knife. would be a tough outter skin im sure, any thoughts there.

get your self the metal flexable exhaust tubing and sleeve the hose, lol :)

I wasn't worried as much about the hose itself but the radiator nipple where the lower rad hose connects. If a rock hits the hose it will most likely flex & be ok, but if it hits high on the hose at the radiator nipple your out a radiator & sitting on the side of the trail. IMO if you stiffen the hose up by putting heavy duty hose or guard around the orig hose & hit it hard enough the hose may not flex but your radiator might.
