I don't know why, but when I post pics on the forum from my phone they are always sideways.

I was going to mount them on the inside , but they didn't fit as good because of that piece that covers the opening on the inside of the cage

It is right side up for me. And they look good how you have them. Looks like some gorilla whips to go inside them?

Yes on the gorilla whips. My roof in my garage is about 6 inches to low to put them in.
