I'm wanting to buy a set of factory 4 point retractable harnesses with the shoulder pads. Anybody have some they're looking to part with?
Wow that sucks, I would have thought the lap belts would hold you in more. Something to think about.Word of warning. If you value your lower body go 5-point. I was recently in a bad wreck using the Can-am 4-point and suffered a broken knee cap. All my injuries were lower body. Couldn’t keep my ass in the seat with no lower body restraint.
If you don't pay close attention to the OEM 4-points,,, they can loosen up while you're driving. When they loosen up, the lap portion of the belt raises up toward your chest, and you can slip under if in a nasty collision etc. I'm a pretty slight guy,,, and I ended up having to fold the adjustment strap back over on top of itself, the wrap a velcro strap around the straps so they wouldn't "self adjust" while driving. This worked great for me,,, but I ended up replacing them for other reasons.Wow that sucks, I would have thought the lap belts would hold you in more
Yep,,, I think submarining is avoidable with the OEM belts IF you can keep them from loosening up on you, which I was able to do.Exactly what happened. Commonly referred to as submarining.
