I am running an olde Vertex radio (VX2000) the jumper connects to the mic input and the remote speaker. The radio is clear when disconnected from the intercom the intercom has always been clear until you transmit over the 2 way.

Sounds to me like a bad jumper. I can't be 100% positive that's what it is without looking at it, but there's hope. We're going to send you a replacement jumper cable along with a return label. Try out the new jumper, see if it works, if it does, send us back the old one. If it does not work, send back the new one and we'll have to continue troubleshooting from there. Pm coming your way shortly.

I got a chance to go ou t with friends onver New Years and try out my radio, and it works perfectly. the fix was the cord that connects the radio to the intercom.
