I have a 2021 Can Am Maverick X3 MAX RS Turbo RR yesterday when I went to start it. I pushed the start button and all lights on the dash board would light up, but the machine would not fire up. No noise of trying to engage. Got into the machine press the brake down and hit the start button and it fired right up.

I am confused have never had to press the brake to start the machine before.

Shut it down and went through the cycle again. Machine would once again only start when pressing brake down.

Plowed snow with it for 3 hours straight. Parked it and ran it through the cycle again of starting it. Once again would only start with the brake pressed down.

Have not added anything new to the machine since October of 2021.

Machine is always parked in a heated garage which is set at 62 degrees

Yeah both our 22s do this at random, try holding the button longer.

Make sure that the shifter is fully engaged in park. Push it by hand on the grab bar and lightly move it back and forth till you hear it “click” in park.

When you insert the key Fob and the dash lights up it will show your in park, if so it will fire up

Yep it's in park every time. Held the button for a while without touching brake yesterday and nothing

Mine does the same thing randomly. Always starts when brake is pressed.

Mine first did it the day I was to take if from the dealership and they thought it had a dead battery and jumped it (didn't know at the time, but I thought it was strange that it had full charge within a couple minutes). When it decides to not start taking it in and out of gear has no effect and will still require brake to be pressed for starting. I definitely won't be looking to try and figure out where that wire issue is at, but I would bet its position switch random issues.

The only way I know of to start it without pressing the brake is by changing it in the tune. Some tuners include it as an added tune feature in their tunes.

When the car is supposedly in park, rock the WHOLE CAR back and forth and you should hear a pop noise, then it should start without the brake being pushed.

So does my 22. Most of time I can reach in to start it when its cold. Sometimes I have to push the brake.
I havent figured out the sequence that causes this yet. As long as it starts I am fine.

My 19 starts without the brake when in park.

Yeah, if the parking pawl is not engaged in the trans, it wont start without depressing the brake. Safety feature, to keep from starting the car in gear inadvertently.

I have a 2020 X3 XRC Turbo RR sometimes I have to Press the brake to start it. If you rock it sometimes it will engage into park.
