Why not just do some 2ft short RBGW Led Whips that also wire into your brakes to turn red when brake applied. They are bright and would be a easy to do.

 

That's a great suggestion. I have 4 foot 5150 whips that are wired to brakes and turn signals. Way too tall for trails. Actually 2 foot or even 1 foot may be the way to go since the mounts are pretty high up. That's probably the simplest way to get the results I'm after. Thanks!

 

Go to a truck light website and buy some Grote strobe lights. Grote is generally good quality and affordable.
No reason to buy over priced lights for chase lights.

 

Get one Baja Design SR2 with a work flood amber lens. They are small and bright as hell. You can see them through dust and miles ahead.

Agreed. This is exactly what I did. And if you just leave it on solid instead of strobe it, it works great to provide rear light when needed in the dark as well.

The SR2's are a really clean set up. I'll check them out. Thanks for the suggestion. I have Baja Lights mounted on the front. They are mounted at bumper height and got really covered in mud on trails. That's the reason for looking for something mounted higher. Short whips may be easiest way to go since I already have them wired. But will look into the SR2's.

 

I have xprite 36 inch rear chase light from amazon, it isnt name brand but it mounts directly to the two holes in the back of the cage making for an OEM look and it bright as absolute **** (brighter than Baja designs) which is hard for me to say cause im a Baja designs whore, had for about a year now and does good in snow and rain, no issues. I would recommend. Also works as turn signals, brake lights, and reverse/work lights if you want. and affordable EDIT- the right light is not out, the pattern was left flash right flash at the time

Those are great but won't work for people like us very well.

 

I see, potentially longer bolts and some washers to fit the void lol but I agree.]

If I ever end up with the rubber side up, there will be more damage done than a separator.
I like it up so I can see out of thre rear view mirror, the camera has helped. Hard enough with the box in the back.
I have thought about putting it back down.

 

Almost 14,000 smiles and hardly any dust in the air box, and we are mostly the sweeper/ rattler with no particular separator..

Just another expense that isn't needed..

I love my Particle Separator and my Xprite chase light. 🤩 Do you NEED it? No. Should you want one? Yes.

Here is my lights the each flash differently and are very inexpensive

 

Ya nothing more annoying then BRIGHT chase light killing your eyes.

 

I also don't care for flashing lights. The flashing gets your attention when you first see them, but gets annoying quick when you are following on a trail ride. Our group usually turns the flashing off and just runs a steady light.

 

Yes indeed that too.
Like you said ok right at first, but then if you're running behind them for any length of time it distracting and annoying.

 

I have the Xprite but changing it out here shortly when I get the new cage (need green light for future purposes). Doesn't mess with my S&B either, like the combination. I am going to have to hook up the light to the brake lights to the new one because I am about to lose my tail lights with my new cage. So far nothing to complain about the Xprite. I did go with their mirror lights on my GMC HD and they burnt out after 6 months but get 10x more use than the chase lights (unfortunately). Also, concur with up above, you might get put at the back of the group/line because people get tired of looking at them at night. Then I blind them with my BD light bar and get yelled at, can't win but can be seen from space....

 

Yes, I do blind people with my lightbar head on. Had many compliments when I run behind as it opens up the night. However my battery/stator isn't real happy with it.

 

Can't beat the Baja Designs Rear chase light. Red on the outsides that act as brake lights as well, amber lights that really work great in the dust to the inside of the red and a white light in the middle that operates with a switch so it is normally turned off.

 

I got a RLB chase light, really like it so far I recommend taking a look at it, many models to choose from.
