Greetings,

My name is Phil, I work for VerticalScope.com, the same group that runs ATV .com. VerticalScope recently acquired maverickforums.net and will be taking over the management duties of the forum. Your familiar moderator and admin team will be the same people helping with the day to day forum management. We will primarily manage the technical functions of the site and support the mod team. Maintaining continuity as well as the spirit of the site is important to us. This means that little about the site will change for you the user while we continue to grow the community.

Over the next few days you will notice me on the site and as well as members of our support team. While we get to know the landscape of the forum and how things work will will be on hand to answer questions and get to know the unique needs of this community.

I will be working closely with the Admin/Mod team on ways we can help improve the order of things here and raise the level of your experience on maverickforums.net.

If you have questions please let me know, I will do my best to answer you all as quickly and thoroughly as I can.

Welcome! Please help us with the search function. It will take you all over the place. There has to be a way to narrow it down
For example if you type in " reverse lights " it will bring up every post that has ever had the word reverse written in it!
Try it for yourself and see how much garbage you have to sift through, 25 pages worth. Is there not a way to offer a drop down for the type discussion you are searching like: General, suspension, off topic...? I'm no web designer but I am part of many forums and this one seems to need the most help. I think others will agree with me
Thank you for what you're doin! We love this forum and there are some good guys on here that just want to talk Mavericks

Yep, won't be long and we won't even be able to read the board for all the pop up and sidebar ads. The one that really chaps my a$$ is the Chevy banner at the bottom where the close button is so small you can't help but click on the ad while attempting to close. Frick!
Yea I won't be sifting through a bunch of ads, I might as well sign off if that's the case

The all have ads so that they can pay for the website. The most annoying part of larger conglomerate groups is the ads that will show up because they read your browser history and review what you look at and then trigger a pop up banner to attract you to similar interest paid vendor's sites. Then don't forget the "follow us" on Twitter and other social media ads so that they can reach a larger and similar group of people.
Now here is what else technology can do. The website can measure the click-through ratio to determine what sections, links, areas on the website is looked at the most, or least, and who (if signed in) is looking at what. It's like a cyber private investigator. If an area is not getting a lot of hits then it will most likely be changed, because that real estate is not making money. The problem with some of these heavy add forum sites is that they don't have the best phishing security, so just like anything else don't put something on here that you don't want Ivan from Estonia to know about you and your credit card. Let's just hope the new moderators understand that participation will drop if it's not fun to visit anymore.

Oh boy........ get ready for the Viagra ads...... it was fun while it lasted!
What does this site have to do with little blue pills?

Are the ads terrible on the other sites?
This site already has a bunch of ads. We don't block content with advertising.

Pop Ups, Pop Unders, ads that make noise or block you from viewing content on the site are not permitted on our network. Oh and you can turn off the sidebar.

Have you tried advanced search? You can also search specific forums as well to help narrow things down.

You wont have to.

What you are describing is google.

As far as security its one thing we take very seriously. Phishing is more to do with how careful you are with managing your own vulnerability and if you check the URL address when you are posting information. If you see something that seems phishy please make sure I am the first to know so it can be investigated. The biggest scammers are not hacking into sites they are looking for ways to convince you to give your information to them by convincing you that you should.

Welcome! My only comment regarding ads, is that a supporting member should not see them. If you are just visiting, it is understandable, as mentioned previously, this generates income for the site. If everyone becomes a supporting member, sites would not need them. I do not see many ads on here, but again, this may be because I am a supporting member...

What changes are you implementing?
Nothing you will notice to start. I am open to suggestions for things you want on the site to improve it. We wont be taking anything away from anyone so the rules and spirit that existed will remain.

Typically you would still see ads for site sponsors cause they are here to support the community. We have not made any changes to the site or how the ads are presented. What you see is how the site was managed by Forum Foundry.

Well the way I see it that guy FJK on the other site has been paid by Polaris to the tune of 75k to 100k in products that should be the property of the Forum not for his own personal gain. Then he bans all members who go against the polaris or companies that give him free products that should be the property of the Forums.

Deaf ears... he's their golden child... like Obama for the lib-tards ...you might as well save your breath.

There's hundreds that feel the same as you .. but they're too afraid to speak up, so nothing changes. So be it.

I'd like to see a button at bottom right of each thread that can return you to the list of new threads, rather than hitting the return button several times or having to hit active topics button.
