I had my local muffler and fab shop cut the cat and resonators out today and I am very happy with the results. We replaced the factory stuff with pipes as equal as we could to the length of the cat setup. I had installed a AF gauge knowing I would be doing this soon and kept track of my AF in all possible load conditions and idle, what I found is at idle it is a little leaner from 14.8 to 15.1 ratio. at a steady cruise it seems to move around some what, stock it would hold 14.8 to 15.0 rock steady, now it will go from 14.7 to 15.3, a bit hard to read at times, under full throttle stock it was 11.8 to 12.1, now it is 11.9 to 12.3. Not much change there and it is rock steady under load. As for the power. it seems that it lost a very little bit off idle, but regains it as it builds rpm and by 5000rpm there is a gain that is very noticeable all the way up, the throttle response seems better also. As for noise, hardly notice and that is what I hoped for. At this point I will get some sort of programmer and try to clean up some area's although it runs very well.We did move the 02 sensor and I wonder if this is causing some of the readings also, as for weight I saved right at 11 pounds. If I had a dyno local I would have done before and after so I can't report any numbers, but for 175.00 and to have saved my stock setup, just never know it was worth it. It makes me believe that most of the HP the aftermarket guys are getting is from the removing of the cat and resonators. One last thing,I live at 4000 FEET so I am down 18 to 20% on HP to start with so my gains ARE going to be smaller.
