I seen one at dealer the xrs all set up street legal waiting for sign off from police dept. it is bad to the bone. I would hate to spend the dough but I think if I seen it before I bought my xrs I prob would got that instead. It's waaaayyyy more hotter than the rzr 4
canam Must have got the max right!
I belong to a few forums, and some other places, everywhere I read on max, or talk to max owners, It is always good. canam must have got it right on max, no belt, clutch, bolt or other big issues. ( I HAD HEARD MONTHS BACK THEY ADDRESSED SOME INTERNAL ISSUES) I have not seen or heard FROM any RELAIBLE SOURCES on a 100% stock machine un modified of any serious issues.. nottalking about trollers/popo spoilers...lol...

the clutch has an extra cooling duct on it, so there are 4 intake/exhaust ports on the clutches to help keep them cool.
after doing some work on one, i "believe" the trans has a 16% gear reduction. doing my math, brought me to the conclusion that the trans is geared lower, which is a significant help and improvement in how much load the machine is under. having a lower geared trans helps make the clutches not have to work so hard to pull the extra weight, saving on how much force the primary has to apply to grab the belt, keeping the belt cooler, and more efficient. i have not got my hands on a parts diagram to see if the trans is actually geared different, but seat of the pants, along with how i had to change the calibration in the clutches versus a standard 2 seater, i "believe" there is somewhere between a 16-18% gear reduction in the trans. when the trans is geared lower, multiple inlets and outlets for hot air to escape, along with the new stud fix for the clutch, i think the MAX may possibly have "most" of the clutch problems at bay for now. that dont mean you cant blow a belt still, but the MAX is most definitely handling things better than the first run 2 seat mavericks

airdam, my belief is 16 % also. so I think your dead on there. say I need a sport low thing
Interesting. 16% lower gearing would sure be sweet on a 2 seater mud build.....
Took my Max in for bolt recall. Ended up with a new primary and new belt. The new clutch seems a lot better but can still smell my belt if I don't ride wfo. Overall this thing is awesome. I had an early Max. Dealer took delivery on 7-1-13. I still run 77mph at 8000 rpm on my speedo not figuring in the 30" tires.

the sport mode kits for the max are different than on the short'ies. i already have a new max kit that has the longer harness. sold a few already i still have 2 left right now. i will shoot you a PM about it.
